Thomas wins Big West freshman honor
A year ago, Dylan Thomas struggled with his pitch command, leading to being redshirted in 2016.
Thomas conquered his control and season-long back issues to convert all nine of his save opportunities this season. Today, Thomas was named the Big West Conference’s freshman pitcher of the year.
“It’s a huge honor to wake up to that,” said Thomas, who was awakened from a nap to learn of the award.
Thomas had a 2.01 earned-run average in 17 appearances.
Starting pitcher Brendan Hornung and third baseman Josh Rojas were named to the second team.
Thomas, set-up reliever Casey Ryan, center fielder Dylan Vchulek and outfielder/first baseman Adam Fogel received honorable mention.

No. 5 rated volleyball high school senior is Gage Worsley and No. 1 is Jaylen Jasper, Ivin Jasper’s son.
Mark Presho has a son in the Fab 50 also, someone said.
Third??! Boy, a slow day everywhere. It even seemed slow when I went to the doctor today. I hope the Warriors aren’t going slow, and that the coaches are getting everything ready!
I watched the 2016 Nevada game last night on OC16, and I’m lovin’ it! Ready for this new season already!
In a league with two nationally-ranked teams, this is a big deal.
Great Evening All!

So, ST, with the BaseBow season ended and football ramping up, what are your vacation plans this year? A whole week off in June? 😕
