Hana hou for safety Tuinei

After a successful gig at the Hawaii Theatre last week, safety Tumua Tuinei returns to the stage as part of the Average Samoan Comedy Show tomorrow at Hawaiian Brian’s (1680 Kapiolani Blvd.)

James Mane, the show’s organizer, invited Tuinei to perform a stand-up comedy routine.

“It should be a good show,” said Tuinei, who has added material to last week’s set.

“I had a lot of fun,” Tuinei said of the Hawaii Theatre show. “It was a good experience. At first, I was a little nervous but once I got things rolling, it was all second nature.”

Tuinei also kept his day job as a promising DB for the Warriors. The Warriors worked out this morning at the Ching Athletic Complex. The first UH practice of training camp is in exactly two weeks.

But I digress.

Tickets for tomorrow’s show are priced at $20 cover at the door or $10 presale at brownpapertickets.com.

Doors open at 7 p.m. First joke will be pitched at 8 p.m.

Noah Allen had eight points, three rebounds, and two steals in ten minutes.

    Is it enough?

Allen will not make the team. He would be lucky to stay in the G league, but likely he will be released and he will look for another opportunity, maybe overseas. I also think Kevin Looney a former first round pick by Golden State will stay in the G league and the Warriors will fill his spot on the roster with a veteran at the minimum salary. Looney has looked terrible in the summer league, plus he’s always hurt. Patrick McCaw has been the Warriors best player in the summer league and Jordan Bell has looked very good. A good pick-up for the Warriors would be Boris Diaw who was released by Utah, but the Warriors can only give him the veteran minimum. Diaw is a very good passer which is perfect for Golden State.

Let’s just hope Tuinei is no joke on the field. Get it? Man, I crack myself up.

Side note … Who would have thought someone could have a bigger ego than Mayweather? Conor McGregor, as talented of a fighter as he is, has just a disgusting ego it is tiresome to watch. The guy is a beast of a fighter. Not sure why he thinks he needs that aspect of his persona to be entertaining. His fighting is entertaining enough.

Previously, ST reported that single-digit uniform numbers will be assigned as recognition for demonstrating leadership, both on and off the field. Something like that. Well, Tui Unga is the first. I see that he got back his number 7 (during spring he was wearing No. 97).

Watching the summer league last week, the commentators did mention that G league will pay an average salary in the neighborhood of $200K. Thus, keeping many at home vs the international play.
