Warriors add Australian kicker
Kicker Ryan Meskell is set to the join the Warriors when training camp opens on July 26.
Meskell was a goalkeeper for soccer teams at Lewis and Clark Community College in Illinois and for teams in his native Australia.
Meskell has trained as a football kicker at Prokick, a Melbourne-based program that developed Alex Dunnachie, Scott Harding and Stan Gaudion.
Meskell, Michael Boyle and Alex Trifonovitch will compete for the place-kicking job vacated with Rigo Sanchez’s graduation. Sanchez signed as an undrafted free agent with the Indianapolis Colts.

Height wise, Ulu-Perry isn’t the prototypical tackle.
But he’s got the reach, and he and Allen are regarded as the top linemen. They’re athletes, in a system that requires athletic linemen.
The unheralded one is Wa‘a. He’s physical, and makes some pretty good decisions on his pull blocks.
If capable, I think re-incorporating the rugby style punt would be something to look at. That was such a great asset when Scott Harding was punting. With an improved overall team than we had from those years, it could even further the field advantage that the punts created. Granted it would be difficult to duplicate the skills that Scott Harding had, but if our current punter/ the new Aussie kicker are able to do so, I hope coach considers it.

The Chow staff had difficulty recruiting and keeping healthy defensive linemen, especially interior linemen. Rolo and staff are having bad luck with offensive tackles. Hope this doesn’t turn out to be a trend.
Injuries are a fact of life … and not unusual for big men in particular. A few years ago, I remember UH losing two starting defensive tackles for the season on two successive plays. Record goes to USC many years ago when they had to use five different guys at center in a single game due to injuries. It’s not trend … it’s a fact that every team and coach has to deal with. That’s probably why most coaches are not that upset when having to dismiss a kid here or there … they know they lose someone just as suddenly to a injury and need to have a “be prepared” attitude at all times. What is truly upsetting is what happens to kids like Kalepo … injuries that might affect their lives forever.
At least it feels like the most loaded O-line, as far as experience and talent, we’ve seen in a very long time.
If Noah Allen gets any sort of significant playing time today, I am confident that he’ll put up more than five points.
Where is Chris Posa in the OL mix?
Athlon lists Chris Posa as back-up left tackle on the 2-deep chart, but that was before losing three O-linemen for the season.
Does the new kicker have any American football experience other than training for it?
Was able to watch live feed of Outrigger 17’s win the gold medal this morning at Junior Nationals. They beat some of the finest boys volleyball players in the country. Big accomplishment for a local boys squad. Hope someone at SA does a write up. USA Volleyball did a nice job of the feed with great play by play. Jon Stanley Jr. 6’4″ OH son of legendary Jon Sr. and brother of Clay had a great tourney as did Iolani’s 6’4″ MB junior Cole Hogland. Both made all tourney along with Punahou all state libero Shea Suzumoto and the setter Saffery. Jon was named MVP and should now start to get some attentin from some pretty good volleyball schools.
Phil Steele (philsteele.com) college football preview says our OL will be one of the best in the MW. His magazine, which came out last month, also listed Ryan Meskell as our starting Kicker, and incoming recruit Manu Rasmussen, as our starting CB. Do you want me to post his predicted starting lineup and depth chart?
