Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on these young men. Get a ring for their finger and sandals for tteir feet. And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast. So Let’s get this party started. We need to celebrate this happy day.

Congrats to all the student-athlete graduates; a diploma is worth more than any trophy or ring attained on the playing field. Props to Stephen for once again chronicling this special day, although this one surely was more meaningful (congrats to Devon). You know, you’ve probably has been to more UH graduations than any single person … dating back to before this blog!

That pig on Zeke’s back, in that photo the other day, might be for this very occasion.

White House to issue decree for transgender students
    Daniel 6:6-9
So the administrators and high officers went to the king and said, “Long live King Darius! We are all in agreement—we administrators, officials, high officers, advisers, and governors—that the king should make a law that will be strictly enforced. Give orders that for the next thirty days any person who prays to anyone, divine or human—except to you, Your Majesty—will be thrown into the den of lions. And now, Your Majesty, issue and sign this law so it cannot be changed, an official law of the Medes and Persians that cannot be revoked.” So King Darius signed the law.

Matthew 24:12 “Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold.” The deception of “rights” brings lawlessness.

Rights: we all have them, and we all love to claim them. Teenagers who are well past the hatching stage but not quite ready to leave the nest especially love to claim their rights. And when the rights of teens clash with the rights of parents, the nest invariably becomes messy. So how do parents who want to parent with wisdom, understanding, and knowledge maintain a relatively peaceful home when everyone is claiming their rights? And how do teens who want to try out their wings keep from jumping out of the nest too soon? The answer is simple, though rarely easy: surrender

When we think of institutions, we often think of places where delinquent, defective, or dependent people need help and a place to stay away from society. This could well describe the institution of marriage today an arrangement to pair together delinquent, defective, and dependent people, not for a lifetime but merely for a time. For many marriages, this definition is all too true. But it doesn’t have to describe your marriage. The institution of marriage has fallen on hard times divorce rates are soaring, men and women are testing the marriage waters by living together first, to say nothing about society’s attempts to redefine marriage to include same-sex couples. But marriage is a divinely designed institution, and if marriage is to thrive in an increasingly hostile culture, then we must first consult the architect of marriage . . . God.

    Gensis 2:18-25
18 Then the LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”19 So the LORD God formed from the ground all the wild animals and all the birds of the sky. He brought them to the man* to see what he would call them, and the man chose a name for each one.20 He gave names to all the livestock, all the birds of the sky, and all the wild animals. But still there was no helper just right for him. 21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. While the man slept, the LORD God took out one of the man’s ribs* and closed up the opening.22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man. 23 “At last!” the man exclaimed.
“This one is bone from my bone, and flesh from my flesh! She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken from ‘man.'” 24 This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. 25 Now the man and his wife were both naked, but they felt no shame.
