Final rehearsal

COLUMBUS — The Warriors went through a modified one-hour practice this morning at Ohio Dominion College.

It was the final workout before tomorrow’s game against top-ranked Ohio State.

The Warriors flipped the schedule this season, using the game’s eve to test-run offensive and defensive plays and strategies. There were no pads or hitting. In past years, they would have walk-through sessions on Fridays.

Former UH coach Rocky Alt attended today’s practice. Former head coach Bob Wagner will attend tomorrow’s game.

Although a native of Ohio, I am confident Coach Wags will be wearing the Rainbow Warrior t-shirt and hat proudly.

Hope they let Wag’s walk the side lines. He really brings good karma when he’s around.

Let’s Go Bows! Score some points and Represent!!!

Score 2 touchdowns and consider it a GOOD game
Beat the 40+ spread and consider it a GREAT game
Lose by 10 or less, consider it an EXCELLENT game
Beat the Buckeyes straight out, consideration for a possible new HAWAII STATE Holiday!

    Lets Go Warriors!

I am a Buckeye fan any other time but this game I am a Warrior fan! Go Bows!

The way I see it, when the Warriors score their first TD they are already doing better than Wisconsin did in the Big Ten championship game. But no matter what happens, know that all of Columbus respects the Warriors for coming all this way to play a great game and we are all looking very forward to, and will be blessed to witness, the Haka in our home stadium!!

    They CAN win this game!

  12. Tanman September 11, 2015 10:39 am

    Go Rainbow Warriors!!

The major goal: Play hard and earn respect without losing players to injuries!! Especially cannot lose Wittek and defensive lineman!! Actually, any players!!!! So, please stay healthy!!!

  13. Former UH Athlete September 11, 2015 11:24 am

The spread has only moved a little higher for the game, but the 1st half line has really moved higher.

1st half line is now Hawaii +26 to +27 at most places.

I’m taking UH 1st half. That’s my play for the game. I’m not touching the +41 because OSU’s 3rd stringers are not going to slow down vs a tiring UH defense, which is likely to be spending a lot of time on the field. I do think UH’s extra prep time and OSU’s short turnaround from their 1st game might give UH a chance to keep it competitive for a while. Really, I’m just hoping OSU is a “2nd half team”.

  14. UHfan808 September 11, 2015 11:25 am

    Awright!

Do what it takes to keep it together. Stand together and stand strong just like how you did during Colorado game!

No matter the outcome, I will be there rooting for ya, cheering like I always do at Aloha Stadium!!

    GO WARRIORS!!! 🙂

  15. bowwar September 11, 2015 11:56 am

If UH loses by 3 TDs or less, I’d say that they played an Excellent game considering the circumstances. Likewise, if UH scores 21 points or more, then I’d also consider that a breakthrough. The bottom-line is to get out of the game with no major injuries and use it as a learning experience.

    GO WARRIORS!

Serena was a 300-1 betting choice in today’s U.S. Open semifinal … sometimes, stuff just happens.

The natives have landed on foreign soil. Time to go to war. Divide & Conquer!

  18. NotNasti September 11, 2015 12:30 pm

I would consider the game a success if we come away with some big plays that would lead the Buckeyes to say that they respect our team’s heart and talent. Plays like West Keliikipi’s stiff arm of a Trojan CB in the Coliseum, Pisa’s 20+ tackles against Alabama, and so on. Big hits and big plays, score notwithstanding.

  19. pualani boy September 11, 2015 12:32 pm

Good luck bows stay injury free!!

  20. SteveM September 11, 2015 1:10 pm

Well, no need for us to do a “Will UH win/beat the spread” list. Today’s Star-Advertiser poll has asked basically the same question with a 40 point spread…

It is essentially split at 50%. Since there are 3,190+ votes currently, I will accept that as a representative sample.

  21. SteveM September 11, 2015 1:12 pm

    …but Tsai-kos are not representative!
    GO WARRIORS!

  22. Andrew September 11, 2015 1:28 pm

    18.

haha the Keliikipi stiff arm is one of my favorites. I pull it up on youtube from time to time for a good laugh.

  28. BigFan September 11, 2015 5:59 pm

I hate to do comparisons but remember the Sugar Bowl when Georgia wasn’t in the running for the national title but some say they may be the best team in the nation. Well, some are saying that OSU may be the best team not only for this year but for a number of years. You know what happened to Colt and the team, so I’m hoping that the outcome is a little better tomorrow.

  29. BigFan September 11, 2015 6:01 pm

I have Oceanic so I guess I gotta go over to my in-laws home since they have Hawaiian Telcom to watch the game.

  30. z September 11, 2015 6:11 pm

  41. 3-Prong September 12, 2015 1:25 am

OSU will score points. The key will be if our O-Line can protect Max from the likes od #92 Washington and #97 Bosa.
