Spring football: Practice #4
The Warriors practiced the same way they did on Saturday — in full pads.
Defensive end David Manoa had a breakout performance in team drills, making two stops for no gain on running plays and recording a sack — all in the same series.
Outside linebacker Malachi Mageo had interceptions on consecutive plays. Defensive coordinator Kevin Lempa joked that he needs to hide Mageo from the offensive coaches. Mageo probably would make an ideal tight end.

Yeah, I think/feel the defensive players are there for coach Lempa to mold into a very good unit. Should be a good season for us fans. I’m getting season tickets this year.

Cable television in the seventies.
Tiptoeing out of my room at grandma’s house and watching “The Sensuous Nurse” on HBO.
I remember Ursula Andress well.

Hey ST,
Is Kynan here on vacation, or is he living here now? I know he was still living in GA as of last year.
Seewhy:
He’s here on vacation, I believe.
He said he’s coaching a high school team in Georgia and living on his investments and savings.
He played 10 NFL seasons.
Thanks for the updates and pics, Stephen.
Have they offered Forney’s son a scholie yet?
GO WARRIORS!!!
Great to hear about former bows like Forney. He was a good one. It’s nice to know that they still have their alma mater in their hearts. Manuwai must have made an impact on him to name his son after Vince.
ST,
Any one of the QBs flashing? Hoping one of the young QBs will take the reigns! Nothing against Ikaika but he had his shot and couldn’t do much with it. It would be nice if we could have 1 QB that can run this system for the next 3-4 years ala Colt Brennan and Timmy Chang. Which could again payoff for us in the long run. Ikaika is an ideal backup who can provide depth and bring experience if he were ever called upon throughout the season.
Thanks for the pics and backstory, ST!
When June Jones, a former QB and coach of famous QB’s picked a starting QB at Hawaii, very few complained. When Coach Rolo, a former QB, picks a starting QB, I’ll go with his judgment too since he knows what he’s looking at and knows what he wants…a first-hand experience thing… 🙂
Good Afternoon Tsaikos!
Anyone know what the deal is with Kalepo Naotala, 6’3″ 280 DT/DE out of VA? Wasn’t listed as a signee but he tweeted:
Leavin’ for Hawai’i in less than 48hrs
Dave: He’s gray-shirting to rehab a knee injury, so likely just a visit for spring break as he has family here. Or maybe it’s his official recruiting trip?
Thanks, Clyde!
Go Warriors!!
How do our offensive tackles look???
And on the subject of recruiting, I just came across a last minute recruit to the 2016 class – Ricky Walker
http://www.scout.com/college/hawaii/story/1642951-walker-s-last-minute-offer-from-hawaii
Kalepo Naotala committed as a gray shirt recruit. He will have one year to continue his rehab of his knees. He is looking forward to his time representing the UH and the State of Hawaii. Rolovich must have made a good impression on him because he understands the Pride Rock initiative.
Ricky Walker III looks good on the videos and can run.
Don’t like it but, BYU recruiting on Maui. Offering 6’5 240 8th grader.
