O-lineman commits to Warriors
The Rainbow Warriors secured a commitment from Sullivan “Sully” Wiefels, an offensive lineman from American River College.
Wiefels is 6 feet 3 and 295 pounds.
It was widely believed Wiefels would be part of the 2014 class. But he was a “predictor” as a high school senior, meaning he met the requirements to play as an NCAA freshman and is eligible to play for the Warriors this season.
Wiefels, who will join the Warriors this summer, will have four years to play three UH seasons.
He will compete at guard.

He said he lived in Gilroy as a kid. That’s the “Garlic Capital of the World” — it says so on a bottle of garlic salt I have — and an incredible outlet mall. Plus, Gilroy has an In-N-Out Burger.

Gilroy – I took the family to Gilroy once. It’s a long drive from San Francisco. My wife wanted to shop at the factory outlet mall. We made a few stops along the way and arrived at 6:00 pm. The stores were closing. I believe it was a Sunday. We had dinner at an Applebees and made the long drive back.
If your car has the windows “cracked” open, you’ll know when you’re in Gilroy. Especially, on a hot summer’s day. For me that’s okay because I love garlic.
…and Fullerton is sitting pretty in their own regional at 2-0
