No suspension for LB this weekend

Linebacker Jeremiah Pritchard will not be suspended for the Rainbow Warriors’ regular-season finale against Massachusetts this Saturday.

In the first half of the past Saturday’s 14-13 victory over Fresno State, Pritchard was ejected after video replays showed he threw a punch during an on-field skirmish. If the disqualification occurred in the second half, he would have faced an automatic suspension for the first half of this week’s game.

Head coach Nick Rolovich said it is “up to us” to determine if Pritchard will face additional team-imposed sanctions.

“It’s a selfish act,” Rolovich said. “It was an uncontrolled-emotion act. There’s no place for that in football.”

But Rolovich said Pritchard, a true freshman, expressed remorse. “I don’t think it’ll happen again,” Rolovich said.

DaveLetterMan, thank you for pointing out the article in today’s paper. The article described on of many standard strategies used by the FG blocking teams to disrupt the kick. My question to Coach is did they spot any weakness on film which made them select that particular strategy.

It’s our rivals. Let em scrap. So long we back it up with the win. Cheeeeee

See Kennedy? Save the punches for when you’re ON the field!

Would love to see Norman Hensley and Pisa get a series or two. Not together even just a few reps. Regarding Hensley “if a dog is gonna bite, he’ll do it as a pup”. GoWarriirs!!!

Did anyone ask Jeremiah why he threw it?
Perhaps someone stuck a finger in his eye
    or kicked him or????

Seeing those guys on the sideline I’ve been thinking the same thing Maddog. Those three look like OL guys. And compared to last year when they came in both Hensley and Austin Webb have reshaped their bodies. Wish my body could respond the same way.

True freshmen are not allowed to talk to the media.
The exception was Moala, who was allowed to talk after Saturday’s game. He gave me a comment after the game, but then declined to do TV interviews. We saw Moala today, and congratulated him on winning the MW award. He shook our hands, but didn’t say anything. I guess he’s abiding by the rule. Good guy, though. He’s going to be a terrific player in the coming years.

#7 I guess the question also would be answered with regard to how well their footwork and hand techniques have also developed over the time spent with h their position coach. I would like to see them on the field for an extended period to see that.

    al-san:

ok, will ask Mrs about Main Street conversation

btw, perhaps no one has adequately responded to why “up-da-middle”

oh, yes, btw, well on my way to the “centurian” level – how you like my spelling prowess?

TO FORCE THE DEFENSE TO KEEP 8 PLAYERS IN THE BOX

A house your failure to understand the reason “why up the middle?”
Is probably related to your soon to approach the centurion age mark.

Please listen to others, What??? For example.

And I vividly remember your visiting our tailgate the following Saturday. Only to remember the bet and realizing you didn’t have the cash on you. I believe I gave you a “pass”.

On another note, perhaps you should go implement a “spell check” app or software.

The way Kory and Viane blew the right guard off the line of scrimmage was one reason I had to watch the game again. It was even better the second time around.

Kifi had it right a few blogs ago that this year it’s not the wins and losses or the Xs and Os. Priority one is to establish a culture conducive to long term success. Boise State has been the mid major poster boy for having such a culture. Their culture is such that the school, athletes and all the elements of the Boise community are invested in the program.

Closer to home the Wahine Volleybows program is the model all Uh sports should strive for. Their initial success was built on keeping the best local players home mixed with talented mainland athletes. They were always undersized until recent seasons but made up for it with grit and heart. The program has become so much a part of our culture that little girls grow up dreaming to one day be a Rainbow Wahine. For the most part Wahine past and present have always played like Warriors and lived Aloha.

Not that it matters but Akron Zips just exited Bowl possibility land by losing a close one to the Ohio Bobcats 9-3. Finish 5-7

  16. Dave November 22, 2016 9:15 pm

Any way that UH can get out of this PPV deal? This is awful for the kids to not have a home team to root for and is such a negative factor for recuiting mainland athletes.

Donor pulls funding for university arts after Trump protest

A donor has pulled funds supporting art students at the University of Hawaii after the art department’s chairwoman organized a sign-painting party on Facebook to protest President-elect Donald Trump.

Chairwoman Gaye Chan says she used her personal Facebook page to invite people to paint signs together on campus.

Donor Mark Blackburn says he supports free speech. But the Trump supporter says he doesn’t think the chairwoman of a department should use state property to promote a political agenda.

University spokesman Dan Meisenzahl says Chan didn’t violate any university policies with her Facebook post. He says the university is committed to a free and open exchange of ideas.

Blackburn estimates he invested at least $40,000 in scholarships and programs for art students at the university over the last couple years.

Another fumble by our Democratic University Representative
Mr Blackburn our Football Team could use your generosity

    From yesterday’s post #4,…

I recently saw a former stadium worker “pan-handling”. She was laid off a couple of years ago since the stadium downsized staff due to the reduction in attendance. (I think she is trying to get other employment.) I gave her some money and prayed for her.
It reminded me how the success of this football team can affect people’s lives. I see good things happening in this team’s future – Thank you coaches!
    —————————-
It is disheartening to read and hear of someone losing their job because of downsizing due in part to the lack of success of the football program. I often thought of the football program as just entertainment. But, some lives attached to the entertainment are affected. When Hawaii wins, it’s a win-win situation for everyone. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, UMass football team has been on the island since Monday. They had their first practice at Aloha Stadium today.

God Fear, in the spirit of the holidays and echoing many on the board here, respectfully, and with all the attributes of grace and humility, stfu.

This is a sports board, not some platform of pithy platitudes and dogmatic ideology. If that is what you want, go to the reddit alt-right room, where you will find many of your same persuasion.

Not kidding myself-the Warriors will face a formidable foe in UMass. The last several weeks the offense has struggled moving the ball. I expect UMass to do what everyone else has since UNLV and crowd the ball and blitz the gaps. All I want is a win and whatever comes after that is icing on the cake. I remember vividly my last game-no Senior night then no fanfare-just the game which was enough for me-we won 7-6 over Utah. Game over, college playing days over…….time to join the real world. Here’s to these Warriors delaying the end at all costs!!!! GoWarriors!!!!!

Thanksgiving is a time to say thank you.
So, Tsai, thank you for all you did, are doing

And thank you players, coaches and fellow

Would the team ever consider wearing the all whites for this final and hopefully, the bowl game? It’s kind of uneasy on the eye to watch the final product that has been on the field at Aloha Stadium the last month along with a home uniform that doesn’t match with the helmet. Looks really cheap. The all white would be great to see especially for those who come ever week! Happy Thanksgiving all and go Warriors!

is it not another person’s opinion? like yours or mine?
