Mr. Smith goes to Manoa
As reporters Dayton Morinaga and Ferd Lewis reported in today’s Advertiser, Saint Mary’s assistant Kyle Smith had an in-person interview with UH officials.
Smith, who received an endorsement from Pittsburgh (and former UH) coach Jamie Dixon, also has been supported by Virginia coach Tony Bennett. As a Washington State coach, Bennett recruited former Iolani standout Derrick Lowe.

Na Koa’s executive director’s job is expected to remain as a paid position, although the salary is likely to be reduced.
Don Weir, who announced his resignation effective next month, had been required to raise money for his salary (about $60,000 annually) and benefits. His successor’s salary, which also must be self-generated, will likely be in the mid-$40,000 range.
Why pay a salary for what used to be a voluntary position? It’s because the football booster club has taken on more demands. Na Koa subsidizes the training table, helps pay for summer school and funds the personnel director’s position.

A golf tournament that will benefit the UH men’s volleyball team is scheduled for April 8. Great prizes, great fun. Go here for the details

aloha. cheepono out.
I’m hoping for Smith. Without knowing what the salary limits will be, he’s probably all JD can afford. Sorry JD, I didn’t win the powerball last night. 🙂
There will be more names popping up in the next few days.
Ahhh, the teaser.
I just wait for Dayton or Ferd to fill me in.
They’re handling this search.
Looking very good so far; got my fingers crossed for, “the right fit.”
forgot to mention….”my personal feeling”……..I think the next coach should be under fifty years of age. Older coaches don’t seem to have the fire and enthusiasm to inspire the young players.
99club on # 2,
(Head) Coach Boyle was only making $100 K at Northern Colorado, I believe. He was probably making less than what Smith makes as an assistant / associate coach.
Don Weir was underpaid, but Na Koa really didn’t have the money to pay him what he was worth. His replacement will *really* be underpaid considering all of the fundraising that he/she will need to do.
High-powered fundraisers are not usually in the mid-40 range…UH might be better off with the position being an unpaid volunteer position again instead of finding someone who will be full-time for that salary.
Wonderful frozen Sunday morning, everyone!
Wow, it got a bit chilly last night — 24 — good thing there was no precipitation.
Great Morning All!
$40k just ain’t what it used to be….
#10 Garret the problem is you usually get what you pay for!!!! As an example I noticed that the previous person who ran Na Koa was on the sidelines during all the Warriors games watching the game, Don Weir was at the game working the crowd. There will be a huge drop off.
Good Sunday morning gang.
Holy Guacamole, 99 and McTruck together in the top 10 !
Aloha Kakahiaka!
Don Weir was the perfect example of what it takes to be in charge of the Na Koa program. I will miss seeing him energize the fans of UH fb. I will miss his hard charging spirit and enthusiasim.
Aloha Don Weir, you have served us well. I hope that whatever your plans are for the future, they will include keeping in contact with the Tsaiko ohana. We love you man!
-Kekoa
These are two interesting hires.
Not exactly sure who picks the next Na Koa executive director. But I’m sure the list will be a lot shorter. It’s always better to be a coach than a fund-raiser.
I think the basketball search is revealing what we probably didn’t want to admit: the UH job comes with a lot of obstacles.
As expected, big-name coaches aren’t applying.
And we’re just not hearing the names of many current head coaches.
Why? Mostly the pay. While five of us could combine to live more than comfortably on $400,000 annually — the top scale for the position — that would be low for a top coach. And probably what UH would offer — a ballpark in the 200s — attracts current NCAA assistant coaches or coaches from non-NBA professional leagues.
It’s just tough when you try to relocate families out here.
ST it’s probably a lot easier too, hard for get blood out of a rock.
Couldn’t pick a worse economic time to look for one to!
Good morning, good people!
I didn’t realize Don Weir was paid so little considering the task(s) that he had to do and that he had to raise money for his salary – I assume that by that it was not fund raising specifically earmarked for his salary, but rather moneys that would be allocated from the moneys he would raise for Na Koa.
Obviously the position should be a paying position with the duties and tasks going with the position.
I liked Don’s enthusiasm for the job and the great job he did PR’ing Na Koa.
I don’t think reducing the pay for the director is a good idea. Of course, in this economy, money is hard to come by, but the saying “you got to spend money to make money” is still a truism.
Raising money is, in fact, easy to do IF there’s a product or person to sell. However, it takes a highly-skilled individual to oversee the process.
For example, if just half of us who are basketball season ticket holders were willing to pledge $20 a month towards the program, we could raise about $250,000 the first year alone.
If we could get the basketball equivalent of Don Murphy to put together a community-based fundraiser, we could clear another $100,000 the first year alone.
Inagine what it would be like if we took the six ticket sports plus softball and were able to get half of their regular supporters to pledge $20 a month to go towards UH athletics.
This is how it’s done with the biggies in university sports programs – the major difference is that most folks pledge a lot more than $20 a month.
Good Morning Gangeez! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Good luck to Din Weir, a great guy and tireless servant for Na Koa!
Ironically, with posts from Tsai about the men’s BB coach’s pay and the expected lowering of the Na Koa positions pay, the old adage comes to mind:
“You get what you pay for.”
Sorry- that should read “Don Weir” above.
dpk
watch out for those quick fingers, don’t want you to become a yakuza by the end of the day……..we were talking beni hana not beni hinn today…haha 🙂
Good game in SEC Final…UK prevails in OT
Good morning!
Those of you going to help the Tsai-meister with s’ghetti today should bring a hat (you need to cover your hair, except for the bolo head boyz). I don’t need to tell you to remember to wash your hands. Can’t find my food handler’s manual, but you get the drift. Squeaky clean.
See ya there!
Go WAHINE!
GO BOWS!
Good morning everyone!
Good luck to Don Weir!
…busy day today, especially with Bulla leading the emergency Tsai-ko spaghetti cooking kitchen crew (over 10 known at this time) for Hawaiian Mission Academy on Pensacola Street.
Fundraising vegetarian spaghetti dinner starts at 5:00 PM and is open to the public. $15 includes dinner and student talent show.
Is there a reluctance by Coach Trap to use the “bunt” to move base runnes up?
Is it the batter (speed, ability to excecute)? Opponents infield, including the pitcher and catcher, capabilities? Weather conditions?
Don’t recall UH bunting at all this season.
Also, “attacking” the pitcher by being more aggressive at bat?
Do teams share info on other teams when asked? UH maybe the only program to have games televised so it would be difficult to exchange tapes.
WassupDoc:
Should it be the responsibility of Koa Anuene to seek fund raising for all UH sports or will the UHAD stick to allowing each sport to find its own mechanisims?
Or, will Koa Anuenue sit back and collect the 3% “override” to fund its operations? Let’s see, 3% of $2,000,000 =s $60,000. Not bad for doing nothing!
Good Morning All! Don’t know if anyone else saw this on the four letter network’s website, but it sounds like Kobe is really endorsing his dad to become the new MBB coach at Hawaii..and it sounds like Kobe is willing to help outfit the team too!
http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/news/story?id=4990227
As I go through yesterday’s blog I see lefty mentioned the Kobe angle already. Oh well…
Happy Birthday Mrs. d1島!
Whoo-hoo! Mrs. d1 is turning 29!!!
Happy birthday to you. Hope d1 provides extra nice treats!
I second that, d1-san! Hope the Mrs. has a wonderful day.
I’m intrigued by Jellybean…
What’s most important, it looks like JD will have some quality applicants to choose from.
A-House:
According to the folks at Koa Anuenue, there are approximately 50 different sports funds currently set up. Were the Tsai-kos to establish their own fund – remember when I did some research on this a couple of months ago – so that each donor would receive a written acknowledgement for a tax deductgion, we would become one of the fifty or so.
What Koa Anuenue does is process the paperwork – not just for donors such as thee and me – but it also handles the financial paperwork for the purchase of equipment, meals, travel expenses, scholarships or whatever in cooperation with the specific athletic proram.
For example, let’s say that the Wahine Volleyball program needs a new piece of training equipment which would strengthen legs. The trainer would discuss this with the coaches who would then bring the issue up with the booster club as well as the Athletic Department administration. The latter would give its approval to do a search as well as a fundraising campaign. The booster club would then sponsor a drive or a dinner or a whatever while the training folks would investigate what’s out there.
After the fundraiser is completed, then the money is transferred to the Wahine Volleyball Equipment Fund
Once a decision is made as to what manufacturer has the best equipment at the best cost, then the AD aprroves the purchase and the request for the release is filed and a check issued.
I know, I know – lots of bureaucratic folderal, but at least the matter is relatively transparent.
Happy Birthday to Juliet, certainly the sharpest knife in the set.
d1島: You are a lucky man!
Oh…and d1島: Make sure she’s not late for ‘KP’ duties in the Army of the Iron Chef service, we need dat sharp kinife.
Slugger ~ I have a limited supply of food handler gloves for the crew. JJ is a little rusty at handling medical emergencies. He put a tourniquet on Homey once, and now he stay short for life!
Good morning Tsaikos.
Happy Birthday Mrs d1 and wish you many, many more.
Kekoa . . .
Might want to make sure the food-handlers gloves are latex-free! Lots of folks sensitive to latex.
I discovered this site on faves.com social bookmarking site. I liked it and gave you a fave! By the way I also really like your blog theme! Did you develop it yourself or can I download it from somehwere?
Have fun at the spaghetti feed — preparing, cooking, sampling, sampling, sampling, eating, talking, eating, laughing, eating, eating, work hard and enjoy the time together!!!
#38 deductgion = deduction. De bod aye at woik agin.
The brackets should be released within the next hour or so (if I have the timing right). Will be interesting to see if USU gets selected as an at-large, giving the WAC two bids for the first time in several years.
Hauoli Lahanau, Mrs. d1 !!!
Will be with the spaghetti slingers in spirit. Live you guys!
Sorry to see Don Weir leaving Na Koa but times and needs change and we must all make hard decisions.
Have a blessed day, erryone!
Wafan ~ Latex is why Homey cannot wear that stuff anywhere on his body.
Heading down the trail to enlist in the Iron Chef Cadre.
Bbl
Wafan- #45 reminded me so much of Auntie Marialani. Not too sweet, not too rancid, juuuust right! 😆
Na Wahine beats Depaul in the championship game 4-1. How many fans knew they changed the schedule. Game was supposed to start at 12 noon as of yesterday, posted schedule forever on UH website, who made the change and forgot to tell its fans. The 10 am game was suppose to feature the losers of yesterday’s championship bracket play. UH really wants fans to bond with its teams, then do a better job of communicating.
Ralph,
SJ and Myki had to call me. Protector was there too. I saw that the UH website listed the game at 10 last night but I thought that was an error since all other media said 12. If the UH website said there was a CHANGE then fine but nothing.
Decent crowd of about 80 but still… Horrible notification!!! If its a unique circumstance then fine.
I’ll let the Birthday Girl know about the well-wishes. She stopped by for a B-day blessing; I went on a malasada run then it’s off to Tspaghetti Boot Camp!
Congrats SB Wahine!!!
Winnah winnah chicken dinnah!
Whoo-hoo!!!
Wahine!!!
Goofy thing for the UH to do. Hmmmm, maybe Depaul had to catch a flight? HA!
😳
Forgot a radio.
If anyone else is coming to help, please bring one so we can listen to the BaseBows. Thanks!
d1 . . .
Is Mrs. d1 having a birthday malasada? Or would that be a malasada birthday “cake”.
They are tough to stabilize — might be forced to take a bite out of each so they have a good base and do not roll over.
Good afternoon Tsai-kos!
Happy Birthday Mrs. d1!!
Congrats to the Wahine. Methinks me likes watching softball better than baseball and not because the games are free…
Did anyone see the GU-WVU game yesterday? I was at the bb game. Was listening to ESPN last night and a caller was complaining about a bad call at the end of the game. Didn’t get all of it.
first up kyle smith.
nice.
more to follow.
sounds good.
ahouse….they have layed down a few sacrifices this year. some successful some not.
noodle time.
adios.
I’m making my own spaghetti tonite, simply fry a lb. of hamburger and drain, add a bottle of Ragu Spaghetti sauce, add a drained can of mushrooms pieces and simmer. Boil spaghetti noodles for 12 – 15 minutes and drain. Boil some Kahuku sweet corn on the cob. Buy some rolls and add butter.
you are ready to go
The deterrent to b-ball coaching applicants goes way beyond money. Job security is a big issue, and that goes back to recruiting. The Islands are barren of WAC worthy recruits. Established coaches, and most everyone else with the necessary tools to have success in the WAC, lack ties to Islands. The transplant coach is going to have to convince a bunch of equally foreign players to transplant to Hawaii. It is a tough sell, and if the right players don’t come, the team will not have success, and the coach will be aloha. Given the high risk of failure, candidates certainly expect better than average pay, and it just isn’t going to happen.
The most we can hope for is an up and coming newbie, who offers promise of up-tempo, entertaining basketball, and who knows how to recruit. Kyle Smith fits the bill. Few else do.
CRW, the WAC got 2 teams into the NCAA bb.
Maverick and 99club…….long time no see, good to see you fellas still kickin-it on this blog. have a beautiful day gangeeeez!!
I hope JD’s decision on the next bb coach is on the short side of next week rather than the opposite, if you know what I mean? I think he got some very good referrals from reliable sources…end story.
Still, would be nice if us fans could learn more about who else applied?
mctruck, sometimes it is better not to know who applied cause it might be more of a distraction to the new bb coach. it is jd’s decision and i don’t need to know who is applying, but who he has hired and what direction will the mbb program be going. it is jd who will have to stay by that decision and for the rest of us, we wish the new coach well and welcome aboard.
Happy Pi Day!!
Hey, hey and a Happy Birfday to Mrs d1 and many more happy returns!!
Lots of fun at the TSpaghetti TSuper Chef get-together. Lots of help showed up.Had to leave before the finished product was available for Tsampling but it looked good! 🙂
what a gang to help at HMA today; just like da old dayz, bruddah need a little kokua, everybody show up wit da little coolah, and jumpin in for help any kine way………das called ‘living’, and das called ‘living local’
IMUA WARRIORS…
Happy Pi Day! 🙂
Did anyone celebrate Pi Day at 1:59?
BaseBows getting buried 🙁
Mahalo’s to my fellow Tsaiko Tspaghetti Tslingers. Work well done by Pomai, Hi-flyer, Ralph, Mr. & Mrs. D-1, Slugger, James, A-joe, A-Sports, Bulla, Lyn BG & Betty and the entire Sensei Al’s ohana.
When I left, Al and ST were busy making plans to get that new restaurant going. We certainly have the crew to run it.
DPK was like an Orchestra leader in the kitchen. Had the team operating like a smoothie machine!
wafan: No, but I brought pumpkin pie to church today! Costco didn’t have any apple pies, which is what I usually buy for Pi Day. Two people told me they wanted custard pie instead. 😛
A big mahalo very much to Iron Chef Al and his Tspaghetti minions for showing up at the beautiful little campus at HMA.
Many hands made the work quick and easy, with Hi-flyer and the loverly Slugger doin’ the heavy liftin’ for the noodles and sauce prep after Al’s wonderful family got things started.
If you’re in town looking for some great vegetarian spaghetti tonight at 5:00PM, Hawaii Mission Academy gym is the place to be!
Its ballsy and a bit tacky, but Kobe Bryant’s father would be an interesting pick for bb coach. He would get into a lot of living rooms.
http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/news/story?id=4990227
whitey, ur #67…..point taken…makes more sense.
Happy birthday, Mrs. d1!!!!
I’m back from my previous engagement. ST — thanks for the concern and 911 service text message and call– it was much appreciated. No press releases are forthcoming. 😐
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MRS. d1島 !!!
Interesting to note that the PAC 10 and WAC has the same number of teams in the NCAA final four bracketing. MWC has 5.

We will be discussing the use of a new Pavillion site and giving it a shakedown cruise. Maximum Cooking limits and consumption of Alcoholic beverages are likely to be very closely monitored.
If you are planning to come to the Mini-CC tomorrow, just come! No need RSVP, or make fancy, just come as you are. Slippah, shorts and T-shirt is ok fine.
Whitey only 4 MWC teams. Then again, a lot better than having only 2 like our WAC
BYU, UTEP, N Mexico, SD State, and UNLV makes 5
big mahalo to all who helped out today at hma fundraiser.
good to see everybody again.
special shout out to hiflyer who worked his tail off from beginning to end. and all the while, he was whistling while he worked.
ralph, if UTEP not in MWC, then 4.
Kyle Smith is not a great recruiter. David Patrick is the Aussie recruiter. Who has Kyle Smith got? He’s not an uptempo guy, he’s more of a controlled flex offense guy. Read his Bio. He alone has only recruited Cal and some Pac Northwest.
Gib Arnold is the guy with the International recruiting base in Europe and Africa. He was rated one of the top 25 recruiters by Rivals. He was on the list as top assistants ready to take a head coaching job.
Come on guys, I know you all hate Punahou, but Gib is the best guy for the job. Forget the Frank Arnold and Punahou connection and he is the best candidate.
Plus Utah State, 27-7.
happy birthday mrs. d1!
wow, wish we had known earlier today.
thanks for sharing your birthday with some friends and pots n pans.
crw said that the WAC had only one team in the NCAA last yr, so this is an improvement and who knows what 2011 will bring to WAC bb.
I don’t know how people can say that someone is the best guy for the job unless they know all the candidates who have applied for it. I hope to see more names in the pool and hope we get a good one.
Kendall #90 is correct. I noticed a tendency for posters to get Kyle Smith confused with Gib Arnold.
Kekoa – you got mail.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIET!!!
Sure wished we knew about it earlier! We could have had sum partee at HMA!!!
ST – you got mail too.
99…
100!

German man broke into a jail every night to have sex with his girlfriend! After about a month of listening to their loud activity, the other female prisoners told the guards and the man was caught. The woman was in a minimum security prison and they could have had sex during the day without problems, but the woman and her boyfriend were lonely at night.

Kendall-
Kamehameha alum here. Confirmed Tsaiko and UH Grad as well.
Punahou rocks! I cried the day Mosi died and cheered when Obama won. Many great friends from that school!
Yeah, there’s some rivalry and good natured smack talk, but I don’t think anybody here hates any school, Punahou included.
As far as who’s best for the new UH BBall coach, Gib Arnold is certainly one of the quality applicants, but at this stage, we still don’t know who all is interested. If he doesn’t get the job, it won’t be because he’s a Punahou guy.
We might be a lot of things on this blog, but Pun haters we aint.
GO Puns! 😉
jm2375 – do I get email too??
Garret-
Great to see ur free play links again.
I would guess that jet pack would be able to carry the typical Tsaiko male only twenty feet or so… 😆
I was hoping there would be a cattle call sometime this week! Count me in; I just need a ride. 🙂
Jason lives!! j/k… Jason, get some exercise and walk to Hale Ikena. It’s not that far is it? j/k
Stretch – you want an email too? You bringing those visual aids on Friday? 😆
BTW, Men’s volleyball Alumnae Match also on 4/10/10, 5 pm. Tsai-ko Caravan from CC to SSC?
I’m trying to rest this week, not stress myself out with exercise. 😉
Good to AC Carter doing so well…

Happy Birthday Mrs. Dl! Hope you enjoyed ur day.
Once again, Mrs. d1島 thanks everyone for the B-day wishes. She says it was a great day, in part, because of getting together with so many Tsaikos!
Spok whoever shows up at Hale Ikena tomorrow.
Oyasumina-tsai….
Whitey UTep won C USA title. Remember all those teams that fled the WAC to join C USA including SMU and Rice
Jason ~ I’ll be in your neighborhood to pick up Pomai. I’ll pick u up also. Have your bus pass ready for the driver.
mrs. ltuh….howzit?
long time no see.
OK, time to go moemoe. Oyasumina-tsai!
Mrs. LTUHF ~ Please join us for lunch if you are able. This will give you a better idea of what we are going to be doing for the upcoming Warrior football, t-gate season.
All the information is at post #84.
Bruinwalker posts on volley talk – Sealy’s recruits for 2010 and 2011
2010 RECRUITS
Allie La Pierre 6’ OH from La Verne, CA (Bonita High School & Club West VBC).
Kelly Reeves 6’ OH from San Diego, CA (Cathedral Catholic High School & Encinitas Wave VBC).
Meg Norton 5’11”OH from Los Angeles, CA (Harvard-Westlake High School & Sunshine VBC)
Jenna Scilacci 6’ MB from Los Angeles, CA (Marymount High School & Sunshine VBC).
Madie Smith 5’8” Setter from Newport Beach, CA (Corona del Mar High School)
2011 RECRUITS
Zoe Nightingale 6’4’’ MB from Sacramento, CA (St. Francis High School & Force Volleyball Club)
Olivia Okoro 6’ MB from Carrollton, TX (Hebron High School & Dallas Skyline Volleyball Club). Member of 2009 U.S. Youth National Team.
Megan Moenoa 5’10’’ junior setter from Lakewood, CA (Lakewood High School and Mizuno Long Beach VBC) UCLA for 2011. Per Prepvolleyball.com, Moenoa is a top 50 junior and one of the finest setters in the class.
looks like Sealy and Shoji are willing to go with short setters if they show a high vb IQ. But can they block, Penn State 3 recruits at MB are 6’4, 6’5 and 6’6, at the super regional and final four you got to put up a block to survive.
Nationally ranked Cal Bears will be playing sb this week. Led by Valerie Arioto, 9-2, 1.69 era, 103 Ks, .149 batting average against; Jamia Reid is second in batting at .443, but the scary stat, she has stolen 31 bases in 35 attempts, and as a team Cal has stolen 74 in 82 attempts. UH middle defense is in for a big surprise once Cal runners are on base. As a team Cal is batting .337, not much Hr but they have a very good slugging percentage and On Base percentage which makes their running a very major threat to our middle fielders.
Lindsey Ziegenhirt has a .705 slugging percentage, but Valerie Arioto is the leader at .875, both numbers are unbelievable numbers. Jamia Reid is the lead off batter, Arioto bats third and Ziegenhirt is the clean up.
Valerie Arioto is as valuable as Danielle Lawrie, both are pitchers, both bat third on the team, and are leaders in both offensive categories for their respective teams.
Cannot make the mini-Cattle Call – like Jason, I only get around by bus these days and will not be able to get to and from town in a timely fashion.
On April 10, there’s a Bowsball Double-Header with Fresno State starting at 3:05 pm. If the T-Gate is at Richardson Field, that’s a long way to go from there to Murakami Stadium. Why not hold it somewhere closer to UH so that people can attend both the T-Gate and the games without worrying about having hoisted a few cool ones.
Has the site for the Friday, April 30, “game” been selected yet? Will there be a T-Gate there was well
Re softball switch: We showed up shortly after noon for what I thought was going to be the championship game. Loyola Marymount and Troy were on the field so I assumed that the first game got delayed for some reason. DrDoc went on over to watch the baseball game at 12:30 and I stayed until the final out. After a few minutes of watching people leave, I went downstairs and saw the schedule change. Wish someone had called or posted the information here early this morning.
Ran into Stretch late in the Murakami debacle and found out that that Na Wahine had won in the first game.
After the blowout, we went to the the HMA fund-raiser. Saw a few Tsai-kos and exchanged hellos, but we sat with strangers who talked about going to the school wayyyy back in the day.
Jace Williams is the fifth batter, .471 BA with a .608 slugging average. Statistically this team is as potent as Stanford and Arizona, will be two great games to watch. UH vs Cal on thursday at 5 pm, Friday 6 pm and saturday at 2 pm. Come on down to the quarry, its free except for the parking.
#107 Garret did a google on the company because I thought it was neat. One thing it will never make it in Tsaiko Land due to rule that you can not weight over 240 pounds to fly it, shucks!!!!!!
Good Monday morning!
Have a great Spring Break!!!
We have another 3 weeks until our break.
Pomai . . .
Just have to purchase two jet packs.
Or maybe three.
Great to hear things went well at the spaghetti slinging.
Very good post. I’ve found your site via Bing and I’m really happy about the information you provide in your articles. Btw your sites layout is really messed up on the Kmelon browser. Would be really great if you could fix that. Anyhow keep up the good work!
Good morning Tsaikos. know that d1 is up and running. Have a great day gang.
Good morning Tsai-kos!
Happy Ides of March!
wafan – only DOE schools are out this week, a departure from tradition & they still get next Fri off too (Kuhio Day). Private schools and UH off next week (ie no traffic!!).
RIP Peter Graves. Good morning Mr. Phelps.
Off to work.
The blogmeister will disavow any knowledge of our actions.
Aloha Kakahiaka!
Congrats to the tspaghetti tslingers!
Great Morning All!
Wet ‘N Wild…Slip ‘n Slide out there again today. Be careful.
NoHiHo today! 🙂
Aloha Kakahiaka!
Felt like a pre-T-gate prep yesterday with all of the Tsaikos helping to cook.
Ricky from VA: mahalo for the link to AC’s story.
Have a good day!
Sorry Guys! – I don’t read small print any more but what date is the mini-CC?
Good morning people!
Good Morning Gangeez! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Other commitments preclude my attendance at the mini CC, but I believe it was at 11:30 today@ Hale Ikena located in Ft. Shafter.
I hope that answers your question, Diogenes,
Yes Dpk, that is correct. You may pass go, and you may receive my blessings. More info avaiable @84. (Tsaiko-size da page).

I see Coach Dana and her staff went recruiting after the WAC tournement.
With 11 returning players, how many scholarships does she have for 2010?
Will the Molokai gal count for VB or WBB scholarship?
Adolpho is a wbb recruit, the wvb get a free ride with her if she chooses and is able to play two sports. Hard to do with overlapping games (wvb) and preseason conditioning and practices (wbb).
There will definitely be a huge learning curve for Adolpho to transition from DII bb and vb to D1, but let the dream llive on and go for it.
Certainly worth repeating just in case the toss-up question today is…“Eh? Where you going ‘fo lunch?”
What’s the story on Don Weir leaving Na Koa? Has anyone heard anything else? Was he unhappy with how things were going, or was it a more personal matter? It seemed to me like he was making a lot of headway reconnecting the school with former UH athletes. I hope his efforts were not in vain…
Thanks Ralph!!
UH will be on ESPN once this upcoming season, see what happens when our games aren’t played well or very competitive. Boise will be on 6 times. JD needs to add to Mac’s goals, get UH on TV as often as possible and be a leader or one of the WAC leaders in TV appearances
Ralph-
UH vs Navy last season was a great game. Maybe the Army game will get picked up?
Hello. Excuse me just a question. I heard talking about Thailand here. I’m about going on holiday to Asia. I would like some info on Pattaya in Thailand. I would know if It’s a good place to go with family or should I choose another place? Thank You so much.
