I do hope Hawaii supports the Hawaii Bowl.
They hope to get 30,000 fans in the seats — that would be very nice indeed!

cold and windy in the valley, but the sun peeks out occasionally through dark clouds billowing over the mountains
very cold the past week and the wind howling the past 2 days — yikes!!!

I recall my first ever “cattle call” lunch with the Tsaikos — it was at Gordon B, Aloha Tower Market Place — this would be in the September 2007 time frame
to my right was Darren and the Counselor Tom – my left sat Curtis Maruyama and a young lady
directly in front of me, at the end of the table, sat ST and Kekaula who seem to whispering to each other, “who da heck is dat”! “no idea!”
speaking of Kekaula, I was disappointed to see him on KITV boasting of “his medal” from the Honolulu Marathon when it was supposed to be given only to those who finished – Mike Cherry pleaded with several individuals handing out the medal to all who crossed the finish line for a medal, but they all refused.

Congratulations to the graduates. Great Christmas present.
Re: #4
A-House — I think that Gordon Biersch cattle call was in late May and semi-hosted by Kinda Shy, who wanted to meet some Tsai-kos. I sat with DPK in the middle and he was on the phone with Al (who was in Vegas) telling him what he was missing. 😛
I recall you at the end of the table next to Curtis but I think it was Tom immediately next to you. I remember asking Tom afterwards “Who was your friend next to you?”
Tom replied, “I came by myself. I don’t know him”. 🙂
It wasn’t until we talked about it on the blog that you identified yourself. Now you have me curious who was sitting next to Curtis. Princess Leila? I forgot and there are no pictures in the archive. Maybe I’ll check the May 2007 blogs when I have time.

Guud Afternoon Tsaikos…Bootiful Day!
Great pics! After all this is what it’s all about.
Mahalo to our Warrior Graduates who represented the state and did so with CLASS!
Very grateful you chose Hawaii!
ST & Tsaiko Blog Dogs:
Congrats to the graduates. You have fulfilled student part of student athlete. Now comes the athlete part being a winner at the Hawaii Bowl.

Mountain West is 2-0 in today’s bowl games, hopefully we can keep it going with the rest of the conference. All I want for Christmas is a Hawaii bowl win!

Remember the Tsai-ko’s meet and greet with new AD Ben Jay at the Stan Sheriff Center some afternoon 3-4 years ago? Anyways, that was the first and last time I’ve been to a Tsai-Ko event. Can’t wait for the next one.
RE: #13
Boya_jr — you and tom-warriornation could get together and make your own Tsai-ko event in the San Francisco area. 😎

@SteveM No I haven’t met anyone yet. I lived on Oahu for a few years (2011- 2015, grad school) and then moved back to the bay area. I didn’t get to go to many games, only tailgate I went to was a na koa one.

What is so hard about going back and adding the bowl game stats? Is it because it would affect past record holders?

Congratulations to all the graduates!
Any of you having the opportunity to “walk” today has reached the first significant accomplishment of your young life. Keep striving for the next goal and so forth.

yep, it was a sad day as he refused to budge on our suggestions even after he had boasted how well it worked at the Ohio State.
I remember his coming to UH tailgate at Ohio State and seemed to act, IMHO, that he was still the UHAD.

Sending Congrats to all Grads. When it is all said and done, the Diploma is all that really matters.
Still wishing for the Big Dubyah on XMas Eve. Go Bows. Go out and do great things.
RE: #4 & #8 The Gordon Biersch cattle call.
Found it…took a while because it was at the start of May rather than the end. The mystery gal was Princess Leila (first cattle call for her). J was there also.
Comment from: SteveM [Visitor]
Gordon Biersch had enough place settings and chairs for us but not enough real estate, so they
added another table at the end [when RK arrived]. Going around the table from the mauka end, the Tsai-ko
Luncheon attendees were:
A-House, Tom Mui, Bob Hogue, Tracy “not our hostess” Orillo Donovan, WarriorMojo, Darren,
WreckinEyez, Prideperiod, madeinhawaii & wife, Robert Kekaula [makai end], ST, Peaches, SteveM, Da
Punchbowl Kid, Addahknowjoe, J, Princess Leila, and Curtis Murayama. Sorry if I missed anyone.
RK made the major announcements and ST dumped his bag of secrets on the table, which were
snatched up with appropriate “ahhha”s and sly winks. Sorry, I was too busy eating to hear… 😉 05/02/07 @ 15:11

Sometimes we forget that earning a degree, not a berth to a bowl game, is priority No. 1 for these student-athletes. Congratulations, job well done.

Congrats to the graduates, hard to do that playing football.

Pumphrey broke Ron Dayne’s all-time rushing record, but Dayne’s total of 6,397 did not include his bowl games. If it did he would have 7,125 total rushing yards.
