Exit strategy

The past couple weeks, head coach Nick Rolovich conducted exit interviews with players who will be returning for the 2017 season.

Now he has formulated an exit plan for mainland-raised players. Rolovich has arranged for a bus to take players to the airport following the Hawaii Bowl.

For instance, wideout Marcus Kemp will be able to make his 10 p.m. direct flight to Salt Lake City. Kemp said this will be the first Christmas he will spend at home in Utah during his four-season UH career.

The Warriors, in the meantime, today concluded their eighth practice and second week of preparation ahead of the Dec. 24 bowl. They will not practice the next two days before going into full game mode on Monday. Middle Tennessee arrives on Monday.

    Merry Christmas Tsaikos

Nice present for Marcus. Met his dad at the last game. Very nice guy. He said Marcus was very grateful to be a Warrior. Unbelievably, he said UH was the only school to offer him a scholarship. Say what? He has made great strides, literally, from when he first arrived though and in the end, it is Hawaii that is grateful!

Oh and before you leave, Marcus, have the game of your life and get the win!

    Go Warriors!
    Beat da blue guys!
    hehehe
    hohoho

    ST & Tsaiko Blog Dogs:
Wondering if Rolo’s first year resulted in a good APR for the team.

Met Marcus’ parent at a breakfast diner at NM last year. Really nice people so it’s no wonder this is a good young man-

jackleg preacher — thanks. Our Tsai-ko Northern CA (No-Cal) instigator, brew808 must have been sequestered by his Men in Black again, but you have good neighbors in tom-warriornation and boya-jr. I notice you have been her for at least 3 seasons–have you met them yet at a game?

If you have moved or never mentioned you reside outside of Hawaii, please post your city and state/country here on the blog. There might be other Tsai-kos near you.

in case it matters to Tua …

Alabama: Offensive analyst Steve Sarkisian has been promoted to offensive coordinator. Sarkisian has been at Alabama for one season. He was previously the head coach at USC from 2014-15, before he was dismissed as a result of substance abuse problems. He was also the head coach at Washington from 2009-13.

    Brian Cabral …

Indiana State: Defensive coordinator / associate head coach Brian Cabral will serve as interim head coach, following Mike Sanford Sr.’s resignation to join the Western Kentucky staff.

Exit strategy: Rolo is head coach material for sure.

Always good to see new blood posting here. It’ll be 10 years since we all got together at Murphy’s for our first gathering. Much has changed. Some Tsaikos have passed on. Still, our fairh and commitment hasn’t waivered. Mele Kalikimaka to all our oldtime Tsaikos!

For the Tsai-ko list: Moving from rural Gifu to Nagoya, but still within Japan. (Like going from “Totoro” country to da beeg city.) But will be home for Christmas and will be in time for the Hawaii Bowl!

A-Joe (Addaknowjoe) is referring to Blog Party 1 Click here to see photo archive. Aside from ST, only 9 of the attendees posted on the blog regularly in Dec. 2006. These 9 were:

    Al
    Addahknowjoe (A-Joe)
    Annoddah Dave
    Bulla
    Da Punchbowl Kid (DPK)
    Darren
    gigi-hawaii
    James / (Jesse) James
    Jason

I think gigi-hawaii and Jason only posted once or twice this year but they’re lurking. Princess Leila and Robert Kekaula appeared in the blog 10th Anniversary video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcOZbntUHUU

Bowl season kicks off in less than an hour. Three games of interest SDSU and NM play today. New Mexico faces a team and is favored over UTSA…..UTSA defeated MTSU this year-New Mexico is the favorite while SDSU is the “dog”. Here is a little gem of knowledge MTSU at the time they played every game this year…..not a single opponent had a winning record-I respect MTSU and expect a great crowd and great contest-I like our chances. Do me a favor and get out to the game for our Warriors-me I will be hunkered down in sub-zero conditions!!!!! GoWarriors!!!!!

  18. Old School Dave December 17, 2016 8:03 am

There seems to be a disconnect between Koa Anuenue/UH and the public. If Lahainaluna High can have a private/part-time resident (Sue Cooley) donate $7.5 million for their new stadium (named after her), why can’t UH bring in 3-4 time that much? Facility-wise UH is far behind Boise State, SDSU, New Mexico, and even Wyoming (like UH in being the only school playing D-I football in their state).

  19. islandman December 17, 2016 8:45 am

    17. But LATech , 8-5,who MTSU beat, ended up in 1st place in the CUSA West.
