Dick Tomey was a Hawaii football legend
Dick Tomey taught us that football is a microcosm of life …
What Division I football meant …
The pursuit to Beat BYU …
The importance of winning it in the fourth quarter …
That there are different ways to measure things, like apples and oranges …
That walk-ons matter …
The importance of the name Noga …
The muddle huddle …
Desert Swarm …
The four Fs of football, family, food and friends …
Failure is another opportunity to try again (see: Beat BYU).
Rest in peace.

Aloha to a great man and coach. Coach Tomey was a first class person and #1 son of Hawaii. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Aloha Coach. See you at the other sideline someday.
Condolences to the Tomey family. I always enjoyed listening to Coach Tomey just talk about “life” and how the game of football mirrored it. He took UH from portables in the Quarry, to the next level. His legacy lives on. Rest In Peace, Coach Tomey!
Mahalo Richard for all the good memories. RIP.
Mahalo Coach Tomey. RIP.
Aloha Coach Tomey!
Your coming to coach in Hawaii transformed the UH football program.
I’ll always remember him saying. “Never boo a (student) player” and “If you want to blame someone, blame the coach (me)”.
Condolences to the Tomey family. Hawaii got lucky when you came to coach Hawaii and fell in love with the people.
