Blast away
Australian punter Alex Dunnachie has been blasting shots during recent unsupervised workouts. He is the successor to punter Tim Grasso.

Marcus Malepeai will grayshirt this fall, and join the Warriors in January, UH coach Greg McMackin said.

Go Tom Watson!
Good Morning ST and Tsai-kos!!!
Tom, win one for us old guys!
I always thought Tom Watson was older than 59.
top 5 for the maui boys
old geezers never die, they just give the young ones a pain
Good Morning All! Top 10!
Top 10!
๐
Erm… Top Ten?
Nice pic of the young “guns”!
Good Morning Gangeez! ๐
Howzit guys! What’s going on?
Der Koltster looks like he got a lil sun…
Who are those guys in the carts? Media? Officials?
I think everybody should walk.
Welcome Alex Dunnachie!
Remember to practice blasting ’em towards the end zones and work on hitting those coffin corners, too.
I’m trying to figure out how d1 keeps showing up at Stutzmann parties.
They tell me that Alex Green is here, but I haven’t seen him.
Good morning, again, everyone!
It’s amazing the places you can go with a couple of roast ducks!
….or even Cold Duck!
Hi wafan!
How’s things out west?
Morning/afternoon, Tsaiko-Nation And Tsai-Meister, well, at least the early birds.
I’m having a pretty good week, sofar. I’m so amped for Football seaon, so many positive possibilites, no matter where you look. Have a great Sunday, everyone.
Aw, my favorite cheer:
Iced cold beer,
Makes you wanna cheer,
Iced cold duck,
Makes you wanna … have another beer.
Watson appears older facially.
Cink appears older follically.
Aloha Kakahiaka!
Happy belated berfday, Craig S. Good looking bunch of guys with guns in that pic.
Looking forward to seeing Dunnachie punt at practice.
Have a good day in Hawai’i nei!
After being inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, John Cooper said: “I would love to get back coaching. I miss coaching. I miss the competition. I miss game day. I don’t miss compliance and academics and recruiting.”
Hmmm. Compliance and academics sure are annoying.
ST,
Nice pics of Alex Dunnachie! At first I thought you took them in a single sequence, but then you couldn’t be that quick in changing angles, right?
Does he have good distance and hang time?
cluck, cluck!!!…you silly duck.
He’s a lot bigger than I remembered when I interviewed him at the airport a few months ago.
Garret,
I like that piece about WR Bennett Nicola on the previous blog.
d1 . . .
The temperature and humidity are high. Really remind me of Lahaina before the resorts — quiet.
My hostess is most congenial, too.
FloridaTed,
Good to see you posting!
K, off to go check the gardens & water plants. Laters.
Cink seems like a nice guy.
DI:
Thanks again for the Island Sports Media – great reading – especially the one on Devone Bess.
tommui,
You’re welcome of course however, real thanks should go to BigWave who provided several copies at Nancy’s when he visited. All I did was pass them along.
Well, off to church then….
ho hum. Another day, another brunch….
heheheh
d1:
Will we see photos of you at CennCee’s picnic?
~~~โข~~~~โข~~Good..Morning..Tsaikos..and..Warrior..Nation!!!~~โข~~~~โข~~~
Nice photos today – arms & legs…. ๐
โข Thunda, from down unda!
โข Looks like brudda Craig is still in playing condition. Wouldn’t it have been nice to see big brother throwing the lead block as Billy Ray clears for a long TD…. of course on the receiving end of a Colt touch pass! ๐
The SEC sure spends a ton of money on recruiting…
Wow, ST:
Great pics – any info on distance for Dunnachie’s punts? wonder how he feels punting in Hawaii vs Austraila?
Stutz #1 still got the muscles, Russell – but, Billy Ray will turn on the hearts of all the young and older ladies!!!
Coltie: you gotta put on sum muscles!!!
Re: #21 ….
Isn’t it sad when old guys forget and tell the same stories over, and over…. ๐ฏ
I wish that Tennessee would decide to save a little money and stop recruiting in Hawaii…and didn’t they offer a certain athlete in Samoa before UH?
So, both Mr. Tsai and d1 were present. Where is the photo of the five guys displaying their young and slightly more mature guns?
Eh….. #38 was Mr. A-House, and not me…. although it’s kind of spooky that we posted almost the same thoughts…. ๐ ๐ฏ ๐
Another article goes over how recruiting has become faster and with more scrutiny each year.
Brew:
Say, did I mention my favorite cheer … ?
Anodda thing you got to like about Stewart Cink – He’s wearing GREEN!!!! ๐
Nike just gave Baylor’s uniforms an overhaul…
I like Tom Watson, and Tiger…. but wearing blue (or red) is a no-no…. you get points deducted around hea…. ๐
I’m glad Watson did well.
But then again, he did enter, so he had to have a sense โ deep down โ that he would be competitive.
I mean, Wie entered men’s tournaments because she thought she’d do well.
That’s why people enter lotteries.
If I remember correctly….. “ice cold duck, (and a 12 pack), makes me want to upchuck! ๐ ๐ ๐ฏ
Does somebody resemble William H. Macy?
So…. is the post tournament “wrap-up” show longer than the 72+4 hole British Open? ๐
Brew:
I don’t remember much these days.
I’m in a daze.
Paula Abdul might be leaving American Idol.
Isn’t there a TV cop (Lt.? on CSI/SVU I think…) that also looks like him? ๐ฏ
The guy from CSI: NY?
Paula Abdul….. who dat?
William H. Macy is married to Felicity Huffman, who was on the greatest TV show. (And, no, I don’t mean Desperate Housewives, although confession: I do watch that show.)
Yeah…. one of those cop shows….. I’m waiting for CSI:Wessai starring Mr. C. First episode is finding the lady w/ the 52″ TV, and all the odda MIA’s….. ๐
ST – Did you see my post from yesterday #31? I don’t want to repeat myself. You might want to share that w/ da bosses…. ๐
I couldn’t get past the part where the HA was ON THE FLOOR.
It could be a two-in-one show: scripted drama of Mr. C’s work, followed by Mr. and Mrs. C Plus 7 reality show.
…..oh….I meant it was on the vacant seat next to me….. ๐ณ
The key was it was 2500 miles from it’s original distribution point! ๐
oh… gotta go – conference call time….
Light blue flash again – wiped out my earlier post-in-progress.
Glad that we all had fun yesterday so matter event we attended. For me, it was another great day at work-which-is-really-fun. Must have been upwards of 3,000 people at the Energy Festival yesterday. Our Focus The Sun activity was really a big hit. Lots of people came over to high-five me over the bill I worked so hard to pass – including a veto override on Wednesday.
Las Vegas – I am so sorry to hear about your dog. Twice in the past seven months we said goodbye to two of our cats. Fortunately, we’ve gotten something of a reprieve – not a pardon – with Saturn The Dog’s lymphoma, but ….
By the way, we passed our interview with Jaspurrs, a sweet lack cat, who’ll be coming to live with us in early August. Our friends are moving to the continent for a new position – they’ll be back in three years – and the folks who are renting their house and taking care of the other animals didn’t like the noise Jaspurrs makes when she breathes.
Finally, DrDoc and his brothers & sisters could use your collective good wishes. Their mother has gone into her final hours – fortunately, she long ago set up a living will with advanced directives so they don’t have to make the decisions. She’s going to have her ashes scattered at the base of the tree planted in the side yard of their church during her middle daughter’s memorial service several years ago.
Off to do housework & yardwork and then to the gym for an intensive bodywork. Have a good day everyone
so how far were the punts going?
i know u cant mention names, but are we going to have any notable local walkons in august?
Brew:
I say “great, analytical, probing” minds are reserved for a few.
chawan:
I think it’s a ploy by ST to print pics with “generalized” captions to entice us to begin asking probing questions – especially for Dunnachie who we hope will maintain the 60-70+ yards punts consistently.
But, will agree, that getting the info from ST will go a long way into settling our minds before the fall season work out begins in a few weeks.
Filliam H. Muffman?
Aloha Kakahiaka!
Happy birthday Craig!love the photo of the guys!
kymry- you back?
Hope you made more withdrawals than deposits!
congratulations to John Cooper for making the college football hall of fame. funny thing, he was at iowa state, but has not been enshrined in their hall of fame.
Glad to see the punter here in the flesh. Like others said you can’t count on them until they make it to the rock.
Looks like Colt needs to work on them arms.
Sad day for us old guys, Tom Watson gave away the Open on the final hole. All he needed was to get the ball anywhere on the Green, but he nuked an 8 iron over it. That would have been such a great story, oh, well, life goes on.
Gave up on UH for tickets to the WSU game. My brother would only be able to get two tickets since thats what he’s a season ticket for. Also, UH doesn’t even know what section the tickets are at Qwest. Got tickets through UH to last years OSU game and got baked. Those of you who attended know what I’m talking about. Found my tickets on the WSU website and only a $5 service charge. The only drawback is I will be sitting on the cougar sideline. Hopefully UH will be better organized by 2011 when they come up here to play the Huskies.
Water sports time in the OC Hurley’s US Open of surfing this week in Huntington Beach. Surfline projects great surf and even 20 footers at the Wedge just south of me. Duke Boyd, Hawaii’s own, and my brother in law is being inducted into the Surfing Hall of Fame.
BIGWAVE:
D1 says:
Thanks for bringing them along and letting your distributor pass them along!
Hugs, prayers and love to Dr. Doc and his ohana.
Got my new blogpost up. Now figuring out what to do for the rest of the day…
Prayers out for DrDoc’s ‘ohana and mama. And for others who need help.
Relaxing day.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh . . .
A-House:
No trick. I can’t measure while shooting photos.
Plus, this is July. He’s not trying to maximum punt yet.
“No trick.” He says…. the Tricky one…. ๐ฏ
Re: #76 – Hey kobi – I think we’re all having the same problems w/ tickets to road games, etc.
Please check SteveM‘s website for information to games – at least for Tsaikos. There’s several bloggers sitting in the nosebleed section #309. I don’t know if it’s the UH section, but pretty soon it will be the Tsaiko section!
One good thing about this game is it starts at 4pm, and many of us remember baking at Beaverland – so come prepared! ๐
Brew808 ~ Silly wabbit…tricks are for kids!
Can’t wait to see Dunnachie in action! It’s been ages since we’ve had a legit punter. Grasso LOST games with his punting. I have a hunch this guy is going to win some for us. I thought that it was ironic that Grasso at times had ridiculed Ingram’s nervousness or concern about a game or its conditions. The thing is that regardless of the weather conditions or crucial moments, Jake Ingram always delivered & Grasso always choked. Here’s hoping Dunnachie will keep opponents’ Special Teams on the defensive for a change!
Could be a title for the Tsaiko cookbook. *Baking in Beaverland*
protector ~ Dats prolly why Jake is on a NFL roster and Tim is not.
Chapter 3: “Alpo in Marinara Sauce” a unique experience in dining out under the tailgate
Brew ~ I’m sure you and the other Tsaiko’s could add some of your personal family recipes.
re: the “Guns” shot from Craig Stutzmann’s Bday.
Having seen Colt up close only twice: first at Murphy’s with the Tsaikos last year and then the other night; I gotta say he is definitely much more solid looking now.
Stephen,
Too hot to run around looking for Cenn’s picnic…
….and I thought I’d give the ducks a break today!
Kaia Parnaby is getting a lot of international pitching experience, she’s facing a tough USA team but come next year, UH will have a winner.
USA vs Canada, soccer, Wambach goes for her 100th goal, and maybe Natasha Kai will get playing time. ESPNU at 5 pm today.
Dunnachie is about the same size as Ray Guy. I hope he studies some Guy videos and work on his hang time. Guy had nice leg extention and never had a punt returned for a touchdown in the NFL.
Ray Guy RAIDER NATION the Silver and Black Rules
Ray Guy played back in the days when the Raiders did play football…. ๐
Gretzky
C-Note
so true Brew the Raiders need a coach and a qb that understands how to get the ball down field and over the top. Russell spends too much time eating fried chicken, ribs and spending his millions. He needs to learn how to be a qb and a gunslinger. I hope the Maryland receiver is a player when the lights go on…AFC championship here we come…
