Hawaii 3, Santa Clara 1
UCLA’s win over NMSU was 78 minutes. Poor Aggies. They likely will have spent over 12 hours more on their delay in Phoenix than their actual playing time on the court.
Only mentioning this because UH won’t start until the scheduled 730 p.m start. Santa Clara using the time to work with their two setters. The protocol clock has started so looks like UH will come out on the court early.

Kind of cool. Tita Ahuna and Mahina Eleneki from the 87 championship team just dropped by.Nice of them to come. Eleneki using a crutch. hurt her calf playing vb. She’s Head of School at La Pietra. Ahuna runs Elite Elementt Academy, an online K-12 school for non traditional students.
I hope the block shows up tonight.
there could be a lot more former wahine coming by the stanley tonight.
Same lineup for Hawaii. Longo, Taylor, Vorster, Manu-Olevao, Uiato, Hartong, Adolpho
can we tell Jim and Chris to shut up above San Diego? they won’t stop bringing San Diego up and it’s such a turn off to watch the game
Huskers struggling a bit as well…needed four to beat Villanova at home (att. 8300+)…
Santa Clara keying on Hartong early. Vorster kind of left a lone. crucial that they find some offense elsewhere.
very bad call. Uiato clearly got under that ball.
Kawamura has served five straight. UH up 12-10. TO Broncos.
Yep Kawamura’s serve huge tonight.
That pass Sarah had earlier was big time.
Wayne has made his quota of 3 bad calls…
ace by Hartong makes it 18-12 UH. TO Broncos
This team will be as good as Olevao can pass.
Santa Clara has closed to 23-20. TO UH. it was 22-17.
i never realized tai was that horrible on serve receive.
Zero blocks.
Broncos score twice, including an ace, it’s 23-22. TO Wahine.
hawaii wins 25-23, Hartong with lat 2 kills.
Terrible blocking stat for UH so far…and they need to work on those close plays at the net…
Sorry to say this but Wahine need to help out Hartong. Others need to step up and help her out. She`s carrying the whole team right now.
It’s Hartong and ?????
Hawaii wins 25-23. Hartong with 9 kill. Wahine pretty diversified. Sorry working on running breaking story. may not post much.
Wahine up 21-12. TO Broncos
Got an attendance number?
Leahy said Vorster from South Africa. Ha ha ha!
26. He said she was born in South Africa.
Wahine win 25-15. UH with 6 block in Set 2.
26. Lol. She’s born in Virginia.
Vorster born in Virginia. Dad is from South Africa.
Still funny. Anyway, Go Bows! A little let down here in set 3. Let`s hope they can close it out in 3
Every time they show Ryan Tsuji he’s on his phone……
Kastl stood there and watches the ball drop. No reaction..
No energy.
Seems like UH starts well, then runs out of gas…and I really don’t think it’s all Santa Clara playing better…
UH hitting -.222 for this set…
Dang Rottman almost took out the person next to you Cindy!
that would be ann Miller
Hawaii wins 25-17
So relieved and glad that Hawaii pulled it out tonight and made this a historic night to remember. If Shoji retires, then Russ Rose, the Penn State coach will have an opportunity to surpass him in a couple of years. But if he sticks long enough and Russ Rose retires, Shoji will remain the winningest coach in all history, past, present and future.
dunno, dave shoji is 66, russ rose is 59
Congrats on Dave Shoji’s 1,107 win. Hoping he has a few years left in him to continue. Like volleyball fan says (39)…..I would like to see Dave hold this record for some time before someone passes it. Russ @ Penn is not far behind.
Nice win for the Wahines. But now to prepare for another worthy opponent with UCLA. Lost against them the past two years at the tournament. Maybe tomorrow will be some reckoning. I’m thinking Hartong, Uiato, Longo, Vorster, Taylor, and Olevao/Kastl to start
Go Bows!
Congratulations to Hawaii. Nice job of blocking and it out dug SC by a large margin. Another tough match that will help down the line in preparing for the post season.
39. Rose is 11 wins behind Shoji. It would take less than a year for Rose to pass Shoji.
have started a new thread with my breaking story. will probably add another one with with stats
they said 7163 tickets. about a 1,000 less turnstile.
