UH up 15-12 at the TTO
Lewis with 4 SEs so far, UH with 3
Van Tilburg continues to impress. 4-0-6
Ace by Zarkovic makes it 17-12. TO Lewis. Zarkovic made a great dig one point ago that lead to UH blocking a Lewis attack.
Lewis’ serve-receive leading to a number of overpasses. Fey and Mol win the joust, it’s 23-15. TO Lewis.
UH wins 25-16. Van Tillburg 5-0-8.
Zarkovic with a roll shot from the 3-meter. puts UH up 15-12 at the TTO. This is where the Warriors pulled away in Set 1.
Zarkovic with a kill, makes it 21-17. TO Lewis
Lewis on a 3-0 run, has closed to 21-20. TO UH
ace by McKellar looks to land in back corner, gives UH a 23-21 lead. TO Lewis
Van Tilburg with his 13th kill, ends it 25-23.
Following the match via stats, is it just me or did it seem that the Warriors made that a lot closer than it should’ve been. They were up by four often and early, and then all of a sudden Lewis tied it in the early 20s. Anyway here’s hoping for a sweep!!!
Wholesale changes for Lewis in Set 3 including setter.
10. suggest you listen on radio for a better read on the match

Late in Set 2, Zarkovic had a couple of hitting errors, didn’t get a great approach.
Zarkovic with an aces, makes it 9-4 TO Lewis.
They have a 9:30 redeye. coach was worried about making it if they went 5. Don’t think he has to worry.
Lewis kind of falling apart. UH serving very tough. McKellar with his third ace. Warriors up 14-7. TO Flyers.
13. lol
Fey with his 7th kill. UH up 15-8 at the TTO.
UH finishes sweep, 25-12.
What a smart suggestion. Unfortunately, I am unable to listen to radio since i’m at work with no earphones.
too bad. Radio is pretty good.
Anyway good win for the Warriors, their first Outrigger title since 2010.
The Warriors got into a groove in that last set and rolled over Lewis. They look ready for conference play. Will be interesting to see how well they travel though. Away games were a bit of the Achilles heel for them last year. Encouraging though to hear Tiff’s post-game interview with Zarkovic. Obviously bright, focused, and driven. He’s a good leader for this team.
Ian McKellar had an impressive performance. He did very well in the middle, blocking and destroying the Lewis overpasses, and he brought a wicked serve. He caught Lewis in some bad rotations and they couldn’t shake him, quickly blowing through their time outs.
The serve-receive for the Warriors tonight was where the Warriors really stood out. If they can keep that up on the road, they may exceed last years team’s results.
Finally, the crowd was having a great time at the SSC tonight. Outrigger gave away $1200 between set 2 and 3. The Kolby Kanetake fan club was out in force with their own t-shirts and signs. Speaking of signs, noticed that Emily Maglio and Kalei Greely had made signs that they held up throughout the match for cheering on all of the Warrior players. They did a nice job and I think the crowd and team appreciated it. Finally, the band was rocking all through the match and sounded great! Looking forward to the next home match!
Yeah, too bad for you.
It was a great win. Stijn, Siki, Kolby and Jennings are playing at such a high level. I am very excited about this season.
Mahalo for the Lewis match highlights, Noblesol!
UH up to #5 on the coaches’ poll.
Interesting (and lucky) for UH that the 4 teams ranked above UH all play their matches vs Hawaii at SSC this year.
1. BYU
2. UCLA
3. LBSU
4. UC Irvine
I find Long Beach Over rated, and I don’t think it’s luck since UH played at all those teams home gyms last year. Can’t wait for UH to face BYU at home.
Alright!! Hawaii up to number 5 in this weeks AVCA poll!
Anything official on Tui Tuileta?

25. agree, perhaps luck not the right word.
A very advantageous schedule for Hawaii this season.
