I’m sure by now everyone has heard the news that Hawaii basketball head coach Gib Arnold and assistant coach Brandyn Akana have been removed from their positions by the university. On Wednesday after practice, Hawaii coach Gib Arnold responded to a Star-Advertiser report that UH could come down with self-imposed sanctions on the men’s basketball program in the near future.

Yet another previously active player, point guard Quincy Smith, was in spectator mode at Monday’s practice with back soreness.
