Shucks I was watching on TV and Kanoa & Chris mentioned the UCSD player walking around with an ice pack on his eye? What happened? I totally missed what they said. He got hit in the face with a ball, was that earlier during warm ups or last nite?
Rosenmeier getting the start over Matatautia.
1. today in warmups
UH up 8-2. TO UCSD
Gasman on the service overpass. it’s 15-4 at the TTO
Wow Rado turning up the heat right now, awesome, glad he’s off to a good start!
Rosenmeier with the tip shot. UH up 21-7. TO UCSD
Hope the major slump rado was in is done with , to beat long beach he needs to on fire.
UH wins 25-9.
Rosenmeier haven’t quite the night. 7-0-9
Make that 8-0-10 for Rosenmeier. UH up 15-7 at the TTO
it’s not even 8 p.m. UH wins 25-10. Rosenmeier 9-0-11. Solbrig 7-0-7. UH 17-0-23 in Set 2. sided out at 100 percent.
Well when rado is on he is clearly a beast.
Jeez glad that guy didnt get hit in the nose.
UH up 15-12 at the TTO
UH up 23-14. TO UCSD
Holy Moly, who the heck do you choose for player of the game? Rosey & Solbrig both have 0 errors hitting 700+. THAT was mento! Good job boys! Those upclose tv shots of that UCSD player who got hit in the face earlier in warm up, he gonna have a black eye tomorrow, and that other player who was taken out after Rado got him on the dome, hope he is ok. Gotta keep this play up for the road trip ahead! Was an awesome game to watch. Go warriors!
I am worried that the Gauchos will scout this team well and figure out how to deal with the Bows (Bulls in their eyes). After all, UCSB defeated CSUN at home, so the odds are in favor of UCSB. The Bows will have to play so much better on the road than they did against CSUN.
Rosie should invite his parents come to the LBS game. He sure played well in front of his parents tonight. There is a lot of talent on this team and when they are on, they can beat anyone including Long Beach. They make so many athletic moves they are fun to watch. Joe and Tui are magicians.
Great game tonight.
Ron – #18 – no such luck. His parents will be at the UCSB matches and then will return home.
Looked like Rosey and Rado had much better shot selection tonight.
Thanks jm, UCSB will not be a cake walk and we will need every edge we have.
Beach: Cal Poly 3, Long Beach 2.
Box score CP vs. LB: http://www.gopoly.com/sports/beachvball/2017-18/files/CPLBSU.xtg
Lots of BVB left to play before NCAA tournament qualifiers named. But, fun to speculate where things stand at the moment…
My list:
West region bids: UCLA, Hawaii, Pepperdine (in that order).
East region bids: FSU, FIU, So. Car.
At large: USC, Cal Poly
USC significant matches before the the PAC-12 tournament are with UCLA, Pepperdine, and Long Beach. USC has significant wins over Cal Poly, UCLA, FSU, and FIU. Losses are UCLA, Pepperdine (x3), Hawaii (x2), and LSU. The USC Strength of Schedule (SoS) should be good enough to balance out their current seven losses.
Cal Poly significant matches remaining prior to the Big West tournament are with Pepperdine and UCLA. CP has significant wins over Pepperdine and Long Beach. Losses are LSU, USC, and Hawaii.
I think Long Beach will need to play itself back in. Their SoS looks weaker than USC’s, and CP currently owns the head-to-head. Significant matches on the Long Beach schedule prior to the Big West tournament are with USC and UCLA (twice). FSU is their only significant win. Losses are to Pepperdine, Hawaii, and Cal Poly.
