U.S. volleyball: Men, women take NORCECA Cup openers

The U.S. women def. Canada 18-25, 25-14, 25-23, 25-20 in their NORCECA Cup opener.

Emily Maglio started Sets 1, 2, and 3, finishing with two kills and a block.

U.S. men swept Puerto Rico.

Patrick Gasman was the starting middle, and Punahou alum Spencer McLachlin is an assistant coach. Gasman played the entire match, finished with five blocks, four kills and an ace.

On another note, the Rainbow Warriors are back in the gym for fall workouts. They’ve been working out in Gym 1 in between the Wahine’s two sessions.

Also, Dalton Solbrig is still in Hawaii. His contract in Europe fell through so he’s working out and waiting for other offers.
