I don’t know if I want to follow the men’s. Their last two losses have soured me. I think I will stick to following the Sand bows. If the men’s win….then good for them. If they lose, I will be depressed for another day. Will check the results when I go to bed so if we lose again, I will just go sleep…LOL
Warriors have lost a lot of momentum, not surprised if casual fans have lost interest. The warriors had a huge loud crowd agaisnt BYU, but they played bad and then follow that up with even worse showings at Northridge. They have to right the ship.
Jeez total team implosion they are not even competitive in the first set.
This road trip has been a complete disaster so far
Soon as I say that they make a huge comeback to get back in the first set hope they keep the momentum and get the win.
Pepperdine takes Set 1, 27-25. UH had a huge comeback at the end after being down by a large margin for most of the match. At least they have some momentum going into Set 2.
Rosenmeier 4-1-8, .375
van Tilburg 4-2-8, .250
Parapunov 2-1-7, .143
Worsley 0-1-2, -.500
Solbrig 0-2-2, -1.000
Pepperdine takes Set 2, 25-19. Rosenmeier and van Tilburg both with 7 kills. Parapunov hitting negative 2-5-12. I don’t know why Wade didn’t put Rattray in during the second set.
They really had to pull that first set out.
At large hopes probably die if they don’t pull this out.
Solbrig’s service errors are momentum killers.
The only “positive” with playing Pepperdine is this is a nonconference game. If we lose, it will affect the total wins on the win/loss column but it does not hurt us in the BW standing. I think the at-large is out of the question already. Getting swept by the number 10 team in the country while you #3 will sink you. Would be a bit surprise if they give the MSPF two at large and just give LBSU the only spot from the BW.
10. the at-large (and there are 2) is not out of the question.
Pepperdine up 2-0, 27-25, 25-19
as for the rankings, it”s a bunch of coaches voting. don’t have that much weight with the selection committee
Thank you again for all the help with updates.
SandBows finish out tourney 6-0
Warriors leading Set 3 12-10. TO Pepperdine.
I still think they are in conversations for the at large if they pull this out and finish undefeated and lose in the big west finals but the way they have looked this week, that seems like a long shot.
UH up 23-20. TO Pepperdine.
SVT with his 14th kill. UH wins 25-22
Hope they have their mojo back and take this to five, it was tough seeing them struggle.
Waves on a 3-0 run, up 12-11. TO UH
Pepperdine up 18-13. TO UH
UH loses 25-20.
link to the box. glaring stats

A couple of observations: You have to wonder why Wade stuck with Parapunov, who was hitting negative by the end of Set 2, and hit zero for the match.
Tuileta was doing well defensively, but got aced 6 times.
Whoever was doing stats made a wack mistake in UH’s blocking stats. Solbrig had 5 block assists and Gasman had 2, for a total of 7 team blocks. But they list just 6 team blocks.
Rosenmeier had a good match.
van Tilburg is a stud. He was hitting negative at one point but finished hitting .421 with 20 kills.
Just as I thought. Going down hill. Tough year.
Guessing they will fall out of the top 8 maybe as low as tenth, just a terrible week for them.
Maybe they are just an awful road team and it was masked during their first road trip because they played real easy teams.
They really miss Hendrik’s block and serve , Kupono’s passing and Jennings ability to save near overpasses .
Wow, I thought I was reading headlines from one/two days ago about loosing again. Man, what happened? Back to the drawing board, hopefully we can figure all this stuff out, gotta keep grinding and re-focus. A set back but I have faith we can get back on track, go warriors!
23 IMHO they drop maybe to 7 o 8 after 3 road losses to 2 Top 10
teams coaches around the country have all said CSUN is the sleeper in the Big West Pepperdine plays well at home UH has often struggled in Firestone
