Ticket sales brisk, parking plans for UCSB matches
Kupono Fey dropped into practice today, fresh off his pro play in Italy. Said he was bummed he had to miss last year’s senior night with his Punahou friend Tui Tuileta. Said he wasn’t going to miss this one.
++++++
Some numbers from UH on tickets for this week and Big West tournament
some 5,000 tickets sold for Friday vs. UCSB
Some 6,500 tickets sold for Saturday’s senior night
And some 4,500 ticket packages sold for Big West tournament in two weeks
+++++
Pepperdine player Kaleb Denmark national POW.
Think Rado Parapunov had better numbers but, then, last week, they went with USC player who played in 1 home match as opposed to Joe Worsley who had phenomenal stats, or even Patrick Gasman, in 3 road wins
Plans to deal with the men’s VB matches and baseball games Friday & Saturday

We should have that kind of attendance every game.
Is there any “dress code” for this weekend? Green? White for Senior night?
3. Saturday is White Out
2. I don’t know. it’s not like they’ve been home much lately. Last home match was March 16. Just 4 home matches in February. And 3 in January.
I think people’s discretionary income is tighter these days. Matches have been less than two hours and most have been on TV. And the schedule hasn’t been that compelling. IMHO.
Just curious. How many matches have you attended?
5. I’m a season ticket holder. Been to all the games this season except for NJIT, including the alumni game. Planning to go the first day of the BWC Tournament to get my money’s worth. In the past several years, I’ve missed, at most, 1 game per season.
Thanks for the white out information, Cindy. I have been to all of the games this season (am a ticket holder), even if I had to go alone.
Aloha Cindy,
Will Big West tourney be televised on OC16? I called them up but they said it looks like they are, but not definitive. Any info?
Mahalo for all you do for us!
Someone, somehow, needs to supercharge the schedule for next season. I know you, Cindy, explained early in the season about this year’s schedule vs last year’s calendar: last year, for example, Long Beach played two nights here and so this season UH plays two games at Long Beach. A lousy schedule and uninspiring competition, for the most part, this year. Please change the calendar so we get to watch better volleyball throughout the season.
I think it’s best fans stop crying about the schedule. There is only a limited amount of D1 high level teams. Not all of them can come to Hawaii every year. Those teams have to fill their schedules too.
We played Stanford, Pepperdine, USC and will play UCSB this week. Any other year that would be a killer schedule but those schools did not live up to their reputation is not Charlie Wade’s fault.
We fans should be like Duke or Kentucky basketball fans…..we should go and watch the team regardless of them opponents. I attended every single match because I enjoy this team and not because of who they played.
Over 7,000 tickets sold for Saturday, per today’s paper
Kahuna – well said. I love this team and program. I wouldn’t be as active a booster club member if I didn’t.
It can’t be said enough, but the players really appreciate the support they get from the community and they feed off the crowd at games.

new thread up
11. that was my story.
as for the Schedule, they get who they can get. Everyone is looking at filling their schedule.
UH does not control the Big West schedule. It will flip to what it was last year for the Warriors’ conference matches
8. my understanding is they are trying but they’re wrestling with the baseball conflict.
They are going to televise the second night at Long Beach State.
