UH up 19-15. TO UCI
UCI 6th service error gives UH Set 1, 25-17.
UCSB pulls it out in 5. 20-18
UH challenging UCI serve was out.
UH loses the challenge, UCI with the ace and the 13-12 lead.
Kill by Wilmot gives UCI the 15-14 lead at the TTO
UCI leads 18-16. TO UH
UH stuck in a bad rotation. UCI has scored 4 straight. it’s 20-16. TO UH
Van Tilburg with the solo on Applebach. UH pulls to 21-20. TO UCI
well they gave Solbrig credit for the block BA but it was all SVT
UCI evens that match with a 25-22 win in Set 2.
UCI sets out, UH up 15-13 at the TTO
Interesting looks like UCI questioning whether play should stand Looked like UH was into the net before the ball was officially down.
UCI challenging the play.
UCI wins the challenge. it’s 14-14
Long delay . UCI service into net. second TTO with UH leading 15-14.
Worsley & Rosenmeier with the block. UH up 22-20. TO UCI
17. What was the issue with Kniffin? He seems to be complaining a lot tonight…
worsley with a great dig. think UCI thought it was down. Parapunov ends it 25-22.
UH up 6-0 in Set 4. TO UCI
17. IMO things got a little loose, not called consistently. Worsley should have been called for crossing the center line twice.
UH wins 25-16.
Good to see SVT, Rado, Gasman – well basically everyone have a good game. Hope they can keep this up the rest of the season.
Very good volleyball. We did not look rusty. Agree with Coach that Gassman had his best game so far. I love to watch Tui play libero. He is very active. Sunday’s game should be just as entertaining. I hope the Sand-Bows get a chance to play this weekend. They have worked so hard for so long, I am sure they are excited to play someone else for a change.
Hawai’i needs to keep at it. I think the right combo can do it. Put them at number one. Then the playoffs. But that is still awhile off.
I also think Rado Parupunov is their best OPP hitter. He will need to carry the team. He showed a lot of pop to his play. Maybe they can explain to him he is the go to guy for a national title run. Just tell him that.
22. Watching on TV, it looked to me like there were numerous uncalled foot-faults on UCI servers. UH servers seldom get closer than within a foot of the baseline, but UCI servers were constantly encroaching on that line. Linesmen need to be watching for that.
It was a great match for the Warriors, and I hope they can keep UCI from pulling a UCLA on them!
We need both Dalt and Pat to have big matches the same night seems like it’s been one or the other every match. Those two can take UH from contender to national Champion UH is better in the middle than long beach!

new thread up for Saturday.
27. agree about the foot faults.
29. in some ways they sacrificed Solbrig. They flopped their middles and Solbrig got the 7-footer, which is why he wasn’t getting set much. Things were open on the outside and both van Tilburg and Parapunov were effective. Gasman came on late when Worsley went to him as the UCI block started to commit more to the pins.
