Long Beach State def. visiting Stanford, 25-13, 25-17, 25-14

Good crowd. UH starters, Rosenmeier, Solbrig, Gasman, Worlsley, van Tilburg, Tuileta (L), Parapunov.
UCLA has the 15-13 at the TTO. UH 4 service errors, UCLA 3
6-8 middle Gymah with his third kill. UCLA out 18-15. TO UH
Looks like Ma’a is getting a few no-calls on those sets…
UH with its second block (not sure if it cleared the tape) but regardless UH pulls to 23-20. TO UCLA
5. refs have let ugly sets go both sides IMHO.
G. Worsley to Rosenmeier. Warriors close to 24-23, holding off two set points so far.
TO UCLA
Hessenhauer ends ti 25-23. just the second set UH has dropped this season
Hawaii up 15-13 at the TTO. last point on illegal attack by Ma’a as a backrow player.
Ace by Ma’a gives UCLA a 20-19 lead. TO UH.
Warriors were up most of the set, including 16-13.
UH had tied it at 21 but UCLA uses 2-0 run to take the 23-21 lead. TO Warriors.
Just like that UH has tied it at 23-. TO UCLA
Gymah hits wide. UH up 24-23. TO UCLA
Parapunov puts down the rebound off the block. 25-23.
Great finish by UH!!! Wow … so exciting
UH up 10-4 in Set 3. TO Bruins
UCLA choking…Arnitz not doing well…ma’a still getting away with too many dirty sets…
very surprised UH challenged that Rosenmeier hit the net JumboTron showed he did before Wade challenged.
UH up 18-11. TO UCLA
And just like that UH’s lead cut to 22-19. TO Warriors.
UCLA challenging whether Ma’a serve was out or not. looked long.
Ma’a gets the ace. it’s 22-20
UH had two sets points but couldn’t finish. Missry ace pulls the Bruins to 24-23. TO UH
Van Tilburg with the kill. 25-23.
24. How could the Bruins be ahead 24-23 and then in the next statement you said that Van Tilburg with the kill, 25-23. I guess you meant that UH was ahead 24-23.
26. no, said UCLA pulled to 24-23. UH was ahead.
anyway, UH up 11-7. TO UCLA
UH up 15-13 at the TTO.
27. It could be interpreted either way. I see that I misunderstood.
UH uses a 5-0 run to finish it out 25-19.
Really good volleyball played tonight. Very entertaining. Joe is a coach on the field. I have seldom seen a more smoothly run offense.
Really fun match to watch and can’t wait for the rematch on Sunday. The crowd was electric! Joe Worsley is awesome. He flung his body everywhere digging the ball. Love this team. Well done Charlie and fellow coaches and staff.
Was at the game, really good fun, good # in the stands. I thought Ma’a may have improved his setting, not the deep dish sets like last year, but maybe I’m in the arena and can’t see it as good and close as on the tv. He looks more slender in his face, not saying thats a bad thing, Gasman has shed a few pounds as well. I’m impressed with that shoot 3 to Dalton, effective, other teams will scout him for later on in the season, hope he can add other shots in the middle to catch them off guard. Rosenmier doing awesome, Rado is awesome. I remember last year we relied heavily on SVT but so good that he has help from the diff. positions. Much improvement all around, this year is shaping up to be a good season, go warriors!
Did you pull in two Warrior dogs last night, SSC?
I chowed down one-fourth bag of potato chips and a bottle d. Pepsi and one plate link sausage breakfast with rice, while listening it on 1420 AM. Are they at #2 if they win at 5:00 p.m. Sunday? Or #1?
Rado at OPP is superb. And sorry fans of years past. Rosenhill. Some players never existed. Junk was a guy named Allen Allen. Castle high school, I think. Not sure. But you get my point. 1988.
S.A. had a good article on UH funds into the program. We are not at the revenue schools. Only 24 of the 129 FbS or FCS colleges are out of the red ink. 4,748 fans in SSC last night. That is 46% filled. Still at a loss. This is surprising to me. Rado Parapunov can lead Hawai’i to a national title. That good was him wearing #19 jersey.
Rado Parapunov #19 far outplays Allen Allen #2 out of OIA, 1988. This is a fact. Who the #### is Allen Allen in 1988? My vote, Rado Parapunov #19 2018. Warriors!
One man’s opinion on UH men’s volleyball, then in 1988 and now, 2018. Superb was #19 Rado Parapunov. Warriors actually has sights at a national title. 2018.
Go Warriors. Remembering 1988 again at Klum Gym. Much more though, remembering SSC, last night. Screw the 1988 Klum gym yrars. We’re here now. Forget OIA 1988′. Pfff…..! Rado is here. Yeah. Rado…!
Go Parapunov, Rado #19. Screw the (1988′) yeateryears of Klum gym with OIA and Allen Allen #2. Rado ia here.
Warriors!
Many of you years past fans feels this way as I do. Speak up now. Go Rado Parapunov #19. Here now.
Who the #### is Allen Allen of OIA 1988? (Please voice your opinion here)
Thanks.
Exactly…
They say he was the best in 1988 @ Klum gym. He went to the beach volleyball scene in San Diego and tore the league up. All that. After UH men’s volleyball.
I took up accounting and business, you know math and computers and stuff. 300 level but I had to get a job or borrow more money in 1988. About that. Sports and school. I was bright enough so I paid for all of it. You know, 300 level courses.
KOH I NOR, you do realize that you probably shouldn’t write in SIXTEEN (16) entries in a row right?! You can simply write all you want in ONE (1) ENTRY and then send. Just an idea that I’m throwing out there….
Tonight: Men’s UH Basketball vs. CAL POLY. 8:00 HT
This year they are big. But one forum says they lack blacks with speed or height. (No other way)
Espn radio 1420. I will be on the radio though.
There is a mental patient having a conversation with himself in here.
@Hot I agree. I don’t know whether to feel bad or laugh. Anyway, I watched the replay last nite after the game, I don’t know what set, but that over-pass from UCLA over to UH’s side and then smashed off one player and flew into Ma’a face, I thought he was being dramatic wen he was on the floor taking a knee, watching it on tv, man I feel bad, literally looked like someone sucker punched him. As the match rolled along, it got more and more red, and more swollen. I hope he’s ok, wonder if he ended up w a black eye, what is it gonna look like tomorrow evening?!
53. The area around his eye definitely looked swollen before the end of that set. That being said, I’m hopeful that the Warriors will win again tomorrow. Also hoping Stijn could find a way around or over those blocks. And more opportunities for Gasman on offense. He was very active in blocking. I noticed Gage Worsley only played DS in one set. Perhaps the coaches can go to him more when Anastassiades is struggling?
I am unable to submit a comment on your last two SA articles. Wanted to show my support to Coach Wade and the team.
In big time and important matches, Wade will go with experience. Those experienced players are battle tested and know how to handle pressure. I’m also positive that PT is determined by how someone did in practice that week. Anastasiaades must have been doing well in practice to be the first one off the bench.
You also don’t just yank someone that quickly. One of the hardest job is serving specialist cause you coming off the bench cold and try to whip a 60 mph ball into the court.
If James A. continues to struggle, then Wade will be forced to make a change but as of now, I think Anastasiaades will be the first SS off the bench
