Hawaii men’s volleyball: Warriors win at CSUN, UCI, UCSB

Apologies again for lateness. Traveling. Will be at WVB Friday (Fullerton) and Saturday (Irvine).

Men the men played at CSUN Friday. They may try to make the UCI match Saturday playing at Long Beach State.
At CSUN, (teams agree to play six), Hawaii won 25-18, 25-11, 25-14, 25-27, 25-14, 25-22 in the fifth.

At UCI Thursday, the site of next April’s Big West tournament, the teams agreed to play four sets regardless of the outcome and the Warriors won all four, 25-15, 25-12, 25-20, 25-16.

Outside hitter Colton Cowell was a perfect 10-for-10 in kills, hitting 1.000 in only two sets played. He also had five digs and one ace.

Opposite Rado Parapunov added six kills and shared team-high honors with freshman Giulherme Voss with five blocks. Voss also had five kills and a pair of aces.

The Warriors racked up 10 aces in the match led by senior middle Patrick Gasman and outside hitter Filip Humler with three each. Setter Jakob Thelle also had two aces and directed an offense that hit .313 for the match.

Wednesday at UCSB
The teams agreed to play five sets regardless of the outcome and the Warriors won four of the five, 25-22, 23-25, 27-25, 25-22, 15-13.
Rado Parapunov led UH with 16 kills in four sets played, hitting .357 with six blocks and ace.

Cowell added 12 kills and two aces.

Gasman had six kills, hit.500 with five blocks and a team-high three aces. Voss had a team-high seven blocks (1 solo, 6 assist) and four kills in his UH debut.
