+++++
It is loud in here. Fans gave the teams a standing ovation when they walked out for the national anthem and Hawaii Pono’i. As top seed, Beach is the home team and is starting out where Hawaii usually does.
Same lineup for Hawaii; Joe and Gage Worsley, Stijn van Tilburg, Dalton Solbrig, Colton Cowell, Rado Parapunov

Now does the committee pick USC, UCSB, or UCI?
1. that is the question
IMHO it shouldn’t go to USC. The Trojans do have the only win over Long Beach State (not that that did Hawaii any good in 2018) but the MPSF is the second-best conference in the country. I think it should go to a Big West team.
However if you look at all the data points that selection committee will use, USC has the edge.
Best advice I can give you is to check out OffTheBlock’s updated bracketology

Strange seeing UH come out of the visitor tunnel
From everything that most people are saying, neither team needs tonight to make the tournament…it will be interesting to see who gets the at-large. I think that SC has the inside track…can anyone explain how Barton got an at-large already?
4. Seeding…we win, we should get the #1 seed and face the winner of the lower seeded play-in game.
Barton did not get an at-large. They got an auto bid for winning their conference tournament
4. Barton won the ConfCarolinas conference championship.
6-7. never said Barton was at-large. they won Conference Carolinas earlier in the week.
I remember in the UV days that the crowd booed Paul Nihipali of UCLA. He loved it though, he was waving for more.
49ers did a great job adjusting on set 2, Warriors seemed stuck.
Amado swore at the r2…f word…RED CARD!!!
UH must keep the pedal to the metal – never let up. Even though Long Beach doesn’t need to win this match, the guys are playing for pride and no way they want to be swept by Hawaii in three straight sets. Expect Long Beach to come on fire in set 3.
Come on Hawaii!!! I’m falling asleep here in SoCal hahaha
13. How can you fall asleep when the match is so close and exciting? I deliberately stayed up late this morning to be able to stay up late tonight. I’m also in California and we will have to be up past 1 AM and maybe even till 2 AM.
14. Correction: I meant slept in late this morning.
It’s 3:30am in DC. Let’s gooooo!!!!!
Cowell playing lights out
We are going to be up very late in the mainland. Looks like the Bows are starting to tire out while Long Beach is on fire, but that was to be expected. What wasn’t expected was so many service errors by UH. At least I’m not sleepy yet.
These Service errors are killing set 3 for the Warriors.
Warriors need to refocus and cut down their service errors. Otherwise, no surprise that the Beach won the third set. Bows must get their second wind and put them away in the fourth set. Don’t give the Beach second or third chances.
18 same here
Yikes, looks like Beach will be granted its third chance! If the Bows can’t beat them on their home court, no way will they beat them in the national championship match at the Blue Pyramid.
Not liking the chances if this goes to a 5th. LBSU has all the momentum and the energy
At some point I wonder when Wade will call for the time out.
I wonder if not having to go deep into matches this season is playing a factor
Solbrig was in Worley’s way too many times I’m concerned they might ran into each other.
Body language not looking good.
Beach sure has the magic and I wouldn’t be surprised that they’d take the fifth set as well. Guess the Bows will have to wait till next year for a run at a national championship.
Wade needs to make the adjustments on the Warriors end. 49ers did since set 3 and so far Hawaii has no answer in addition to their service pressure. Put Humeler in. What’s there to loose at this point?
It took 5 sets for Wade to react!
Greetings from Washington DC. im still up screaming and no sleep yet. like 5 am now.
Go Bows for the trophy.
WARRIORS. HAVE. RISEN!!!!!!
30. Where you at? DC here too!
That line up change made a huge difference in set 5 like it did for 49ers in set 3 and 4!
Tonight’s Warriors is Avengers: Endgame-like. THIS is the 1 in 14 million way, Hawai’i/b> defeats Tha . . . err, I mean, LBSU!
I’m so glad that the Warriors proved me wrong tonight. This match played out like a high-stakes TV drama, where comes a point it looks so bad and grim and suddenly the hero(es) find a way to pull out of a desperate hole and triumph. Great win, Bows! Even if our guys don’t win the national championship, I will regard them as champions, first time Big West Champions! Hurrah!
Great game. Congrats to the team, they stepped up when they needed to most. I will see you at the Final Four! Let’s go Bows!!!
Welcome Washingtom D.C. Warrior fans!
Stijn is tourney MVP.
I pick Hawai’i to win the whole enchilada. Si. Muchos grande. Y mi llama es el …Art Masi.
32…. going to bed with tears of JOY. Amazing,,,,, unbelievable… Good Night. 5:30 am . here at Northwest Capitol…..
What a great evening of volleyball! So much appreciation for our team and coaches. And the fans for bringing the spirit and the noise.
In your BREAKING NEWS, you state Hawaii receiving an at-large but by winning the Big West Championship, don’t they receive the automatic bid?
Nice touch Hawai’i. Now win one for Hawai’i.
Con amor,
Art Masi
Nightmare is that at 7am during the selection program, for some reason, even though Hawai`i has an automatic bid, the NCAA will find some reason to put UC Irvine in our place.
I guess the selection committee felt the big west was it.
Long Beach State is a great team. They play well with Hawai’i. Their star player Nick Amado and Kyle Ensing led Long Beach State to a national title. All the while beating Hawai’i. Who also beat Ohio State earlier last year. Ohio State has 4 national titles. Hawai’i has 1. One in 2002. And possibly, 2019.
