Hawaii women’s volleyball: Countdown begins, ticket special through Thursday

The Rainbow Wahine finally got into the Stan Sheriff Center on Tuesday for practice. They had been in Gym I until then with three practice courts. It was due to not being able to set up more than one practice court in the arena with seating and tables already courtside.

Any idea on a likely starting lineup based on what you’re seeing in practice?

Good ball handling opens up the option for a faster, quicker offense. 1’s, 2’s, 3’s, slides for the middles. On the flip side, how good is their serving?

    1 No idea
    A Guess Don’t quote me
Iosia Rasmussen Williams Hellvig Van Sickle Akana
    No L
2 They have tough servers Could See Choy or Wagoner as serving sub for Williams Depends on how unconventional they want to go.
But who knows Lots of options

Cindy I really like your lineup. Mildly surprised with no L and Akana. But the more I think about that no L, that one more attacker may make a difference in the end.

    5. they have a lot of options. they’ve discussed no libero because of the 5-attack option. will help against bigger teams.
    Again just a guess.

Cindy In Robyn’s interview she said how much Ross and Sibley have developed since last year. Have you seen that difference in practice. Do you think they will play this weekend?

  8. Cindy Luis August 29, 2019 10:33 am

I couldn’t tell you if they will play or not. My guess is they will. They are veterans who have played in the arena before and won’t be surprised by the crowd noise.
only saying that because the newcomers have played in the SSC (exception of Oregon transfers). You never know when the lights come on.
