Tuesday check in, Hannemann commits to SandBows

Photo of Wahine at UH Foundation Meet and Greet Saturday night at College Hill, former UH President’s home.

as for the Wahine, practices continue to concentrate on skill drills. nothing exciting about this but the players that I’ve talked to say they are enjoying the intensity and the hands-on individual coaching by the staff. I’ve mentioned that Ljungqvist in particular is very technical down to laying on the floor to discuss footwork and work on slight angles on players’ arms when it comes to platforms.
Most of the TV stations came by today, including Lisa Strand-Ma’a from SpectrumOC16. So you might see a lot of what they call ‘B Roll’ for background shots on the stations. Only reporter doing interviews was Rob DeMello from KITV. You’ll likely see something on the news tonight

Pictured above
Maia Hannemann, daughter of former UH men’s setter Al-B, has committed to SandBows for 2019. Al-B texted me that he found it funny, he moved the family to Florida only to have his daughter go back to Hawaii. Will catch up with them more on Wednesday.

Rob DeMello is not on KITV. He moved to KHON2 a while back. Saw the interviews. They said they are working on a lot of defense work.

Thanks for the updates, Cindy. We really appreciate it. Have the injured/ill players been cleared?

Cool pictures of team at the Meet and Greet Foundation…You just can tell many of the girls been working hard. I could tell by look on their lean and tight faces. Counting down!

Maia’s mainland unofficial recruiting trip recap, from February: https://volleyballmag.com/hannemann-recruiting/

She chose UH over a few of the top Eastern/SE programs…I remember a time when the indoor team was able to do the same (i.e., Willoughby).

Isn’t Al B also the CEO of NVL?
    That’s pretty rad

Re previous posts on Spectrum OC16/Sports:

OC16 (now Spectrum OC16) on channel 12, home of high school sports.
OCSports (Now Spectrum Sports) on channel 16, home of UH Sports.

But according to I believe Ferd’s article, a few Wahine matches will be shown on channel 12, adding even more confusion. Check your nightly listings. Yay Spectrum!

Emily M., looks like she improved her vertical. Expect big things from her, skying high without limits, geez…
