Dang that one extra first place vote put Cal Poly ahead. Wonder which coaches voted which team to win.
1. I was curious, too. My guess is that UCSB tipped the scales as they easily beat Hawaii on the road last year. In the long run this doesn’t matter. It will only light a fire for the Rainbow Wahines to prove them wrong. I guess they went for seniority of players as Cal Poly has more veteran players. What really matters is chemistry and how the players jell together. Besides, Cal Poly’s lead is very tenuous. If Torrey van Winden is injured and out again, down goes the team.
I like coming from behind. I also understand there are uncertainties with the influx of 9 new players. A question of team chemistry.
I think you can’t vote for your own team in this poll. CL is that correct? So RAM would have to pick another team
The only poll that matters is the one at the end of the season. GO BOWS.
I’m not surprised. Cal Poly has been a better program the last few years. I’d vote them first too. How the season actually plays out is yet to be seen.
4. I believe you can vote for your own team. If I remember correctly it was the WAC that didn’t allow that.
1-2. It was a 5-4 vote last year as well but the point difference was two points. This year it was one.
Cal Poly won the title last year and deserve to be number one in this preseason poll.
8. I don’t know if them winning the conference last year has any bearing on this year’s poll but they do return five starters and POY Van Winden.
