Warrior Beat: Hawaii football camp earns state-wide participation

The Warriors closed the camp season with today’s double session on the Manoa campus.

Once again, the 2019 Rainbow Warrior Football Elite Camp’s sessions — linemen in the morning, others in the afternoon — were set for the grass fields while installation continues on the Ching Athletic Complex track.

But it was a nice turnout, with players from the Neighbor Islands, including four from Molokai, in attendance. USC and Oregon also sent coaches to work alongside the UH coaching staff.

Defensive ends Jonah Kahahawai-Welch and Derek Thomas assist in the bag drills.

USC coach Chad Kauha‘aha‘a and UH cornerbacks coach Abraham Elimimian
Former UH defensive lineman Michael Lafaele is now the D-line coach at Saint Louis School. His son, Anelu, plays for the Crusaders’ intermediate-league team.

I don’t think Hawaii was really on Wur’s short list. Maybe wish list of travel destinations.
Ganot, by the way, was in Arizona the previous two days watching a 16-team tournament.

Sorry I missed a chance to comment on yesterblog. Those Warriors must be working hard in these blistering temperatures. Interesting to see Cole rocking the big ropes.

Beavers beware, karma is coming for you!

    GO WARRIORS!!!

These Warrior camps are the way to see local talent early and often. Our mainland recruits are awesome, but it feels good to be getting top notch home-growns too.

    Warriors all!!! All Warriors!!!

Do they play football at Molokai High? Is it the 7 or 8 man variety?

No football team on Molokai. But one of their best, Kimo Von Oelhoffen went on to play for the Steelers.
Was Peter Pale from the Friendly Isle?
