Russell Williams’ numbers surprised me the most. I thought his vertical jump, 225 lb reps, and 40-time were impressive for an OLB.
Morning Tsaiko’s?
If you’re good they’ll find you.
https://texanswire.usatoday.com/2018/03/21/texans-show-high-interest-in-pair-of-hawaii-prospects/amp/?__twitter_impression=true
What was Ewaliko’s actual broad jump results? 14 feet would shatter the world’s record by nearly 2 feet.
Best of luck to those that have a chance to play up! On another note spring starts today. With the loss to graduation and several transfers some may think the roster is light in key areas. That may be right at this time-7 offensive linemen arrive for pre-season camp mostly JC guys but two HS players with a lot of promise. Of the JC guys at least 3 will project to start. On the DL front 3 are scheduled to arrive at the start of fall camp. When all said and done I think we will have more depth overall at both positions, now the question of quality comes into play. This spring some of the red shirts and lesser known will get quality reps and allow the development and sorting process to take place. I firmly believe that heretofore unknowns will develop during this time-this is their shot to climb the ladder without waiting so long in line. I predict some real surprises on both sides of the ball. So if your into doom and gloom I think your way off. This won’t be a full blown all out spring but a teaching and development and a tone setting spring. The youngsters on this roster will really have a unique opportunity to
“Carpe Diem”. Look for some really good things! GoWarriors!!!!
Good Luck guys! Hawaii got to work on those 40 times!
Mefi Koloamatangi is 1/4 inch shorter than 6’5″. He must work on his eating. Vegetables.
Is Bernard’s vertical jump a typo?
Are the Spring practices open to the public?
I don’t know if this spring will be spent on looking at lower tier guys, as the potential starters will have to come up to speed on the new offense and defense.
How come Illinois st. has such a high RPi? Not sure how accurate it is as a judgment of ability. There must be something to it but I don’t get the gist of it. At least UH has a good rating.
#8:
i believe Illnois St was did well in last years college baseball play off.
they led the nation in scoring runs last season.
with a new offense to instill and players having to learn new plays it will be a heck of a crazy spring ball for UH
I’m disappointed that some fans “diss” the TE position — with the current players, they can be used in multiple formations — use their height, speed, good hands, and blocking skills to be an integral part of the R ‘n S
the Patriots even put Gronkowski [sp] at a WR position in the super bowl
perhaps Rolo will be lucky to get 4 receivers to match the 2007 WRers who each gained over 1,000 yards receiving and the WAC creating a special award for them — has any college team matched that performance?
will the new starting QB be as accurate as Colt Brennan? I still have the 2007 schedule pocket size card in my office at work
with the start of Spring practice — a shout goes out to Mrs.A-House for 48 years of marriage! thank you, Mom!
Good luck to our PROspects! Glad to see a couple getting some interest form NFL teams.
Spring! http://hawaiiathletics.com/roster.aspx?path=football
Happy Anniversary to you and your lovely bride, A-house!
#9 A-House
Thanks. Was wondering why.
Keelan Ewaliko’s broad jump of 14′ has got to be a typo. It is almost 2 feet greater than Byron Jones’ 12’3″ world record from the 2015 NFL Combine. Unless he has a Bob Beamon-esque moment.
ammon barker is slow and can’t jump.
A-House
Congratulations to you and Mrs. A-House on your 48 years of marriage.
#1 H-Man, agree. Williams’ times in the longer change-of-direction drills seemed a bit slow based on his other measurables, so I wonder if it’s a product of training (or lack thereof as to the fundamentals of those events).
Anyway, here’s one article on which combine event(s) are deemed important for certain positions:
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2760924-what-is-the-most-important-combine-event-for-each-nfl-position
If true, his 20 yard shuttle time looks okay.
Perhaps I’m cherry picking, but Diocemy St. Juste’s pro day numbers are comparable, and in some instances better than that dude who drove us crazy, Donnel Pumphrey:

15, you placed it bluntly, but it does explain why he had a lot of difficulty getting separation in almost every game last year. He seemed lost between being a wideout and a tight end, and it showed….
Hawaii should have an XFL team and only play west coast teams until the playoffs or finals against a east coast team.
I wish Bernard and Tuiasoa played way more this past year.
Hmm. Keelan’s broad jump is no longer 14’. It’s been revised to 9-9 now. No world record. LOL!
#8 and #9 – Illinois State Baseball RPI is so high because all their games have been on the road. The early teams they played they had a winning record (including against Washington – Pac12). After UH, they have a losing record. Once they start playing at home their RPI will drop, unless of course they win and if their Conference members have high RPI based on their non-conference schedules…
Bernard may not jump that high but he maintained a 3.0 GPA or better along with 19 other football players including Zeno, Dru, Collie, Matautia . Penitito was an honoree for 4 years, Borden 3.

Touch rim. And pff…
Ok. Truth. Screw women’s sports. Except basketball. Why? Strange as heck.
Baseball team r.p.i. was due to several positions. Chayce, Ka’aua is being replaced by 6’0″ Tyler Murray, Hunington beach, California.
Others stepping up. 24 Man rotation all 6 footers on the bench. Can go pro at any time. What college Baseball?
Who is coach Trapasso?
Major leagues.
At any notice.
Mililani guy. 5-10. You come in. UH baseball.
Because he paid his fee to play. $2,000 dollars, two years of play. You can come in Mililani. Don’t cry.
Mainland guy. What pay?
Joke. Carvalho? Or was it vomit? Why you still?
Because I paid my fee to trash unwanted lose. On the UH baseball team. Get it?
Just the comment. I.e. He’s a Smurf.
The poster boy for drug and alcohol abuse.
Vogel, Adam #18 UH baseball is a tall right fielder. Some people have asked him how you got down on your right knee to catch a ground ball in right field during a game? He told me, (forum) just talent I guess. “Just talent, I guess.”
What we need is Adam in every game? His freshmen year he did this.
burro sabio: get off those drugs man. Geez.
Yes. Lt. Or shall we say Mr.? Baseball players and football players don’t vote.
Opening day of spring ball and no blog post?

#38
For real… Really disappointing. Instead we get 14 posts from KOH I NOR of random gibberish. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
RE: #39 Rodney
Glad you got see the boys in action today!
How’d Moussa look?
There must be some kind of substance in between all that gibberish. It’s like trying to figure out the RPI, sort of interesting but “no make sense”. Too bad.
The media will all be weighing in on the first football practice of Spring Ball so there will be a lot of material to react to. Most everyone will have had the “rose colored glasses” on. That’s fair enough. Everyone has their own delivery method in expressing their opinions (print and radio media) so it should be interesting to hear and read this morning. This blog should heat up as well so I look forward to that. Mahalo to Rodney for the first report to this post on Spring practice. The posters here that are watching the practices will be much more candid so that’s good too. Lots to digest.
You can read this in SA now – it might be stonewalled later.
The Warriors bring positive vibe to first day of practice

Good first day coverage. Read the SA every day great value for 3 bucks a month! Thanks ST-
LSU 10 Tulane 4
Hawaii’s RPI inched forward from 39 to 38.
Today, BYU hosts Gonzaga in a battle between 63 and 77.
LSU visits Vanderbilt for a three-game series tomorrow.
Loyola-Marymount hosts Pepperdine
Illinois State hosts Creighton.
Creighton’s RPI is 14. If the Redbirds wins this series, or better yet, sweep, and Hawaii doesn’t implode against Seton Hall, Hawaii can crack the top ten.
Air Force, surprisingly, has a RPI of 71. They go to New Mexico.
I predict somebody will hit a home run.
Jackson Rees needs to get healthy.
Cade Smith is a true freshman.
Gonzaga at BYU will be broadcast on ESPNU at 2PM.
Something to keep an eye on during commercial breaks between the two Sweet 16 games.
Go Wolf Pack.
Cole McDonald could play Ivan Drago’s son in the next Rocky.
Gosh, I hope Mr. Tsai is healthy and doing well.
Mr. Tsai is pulling triple duty …
1. Football
2. Blog Host
3. Baseball
Give him plenty of “space”.
