Summer workouts
Tick … tick … tick …
Yep, there are 16 days until the Warriors open camp.
And after a week’s break, the Warriors were back in action for the final 10 workouts of the offseason conditioning program. As usual, the workouts were divided into three groups.

Where is KT?
Getting itchy….
HAWAII -3 @Umass
Any further update on Naotala’s condition…I hope he is recovering well. Are we close to doing any fund raisers to support his recovery?
ST:
possible for a written description of an exercise — overhead toss of ‘medicine ball’ with “giant” leap forward?
next set: reaction drill to test speed and agility?
ST,
Redshirt frosh Alesana Sunia moved back to DT? Was at OG during Spring Ball…..after starting out at DT last Fall.
be it established early that a certain tree is reserved for a special spectator mauka of the grass practice field.
early morning practice again for fall camp?
its been a while that a UH team travels to the East Coast for a game — believe last one was to Navy 3 years ago — traveling “east” has always been a down fall for me — dead tired the first 3 days — lots of sleep on bus tours — coming back, hey, hey, e sah lay
UMASS and UCLA trips equates to taking the ‘red-eye’ special from Hawaii
2018 also has a trip to West Point — nearly 2 hour bus ride from NYC and about 4 miles in from the ‘front gate’ — beautiful wooded area — hope tailgate is in Eisenhower Hall again — fabulous food!!!!
yea! football is in the air!!!!!
ST,
Was Alesana Sunia moved back to DT (from OG)? Practiced at OG this past Spring Ball…..after starting out at DT last Fall.
Sorry for the repeat question. Didn’t see it…..before I re-posted again.
If you’re watching Summer League basketball, you must really love UH sports. It’s like watching public access TV. You have to look closely for “your guy”, which is, of course, Noah Allen, because there are no graphics and the announcers don’t keep track of substitutions.
While Allen was shooting the free throws of his life, Isiah Thomas was yakking it up with Steve Kerr.
Good look at the heavies. Heavies looking good.
Honey, did Coach Rolo and the band stop by with our tickets yet?….. Notchyet? Hmmmm, okay den. (hehe)
Let’s get excited pepoz!!!! Go Bows!
With all the effort the coaching staff put into recruiting dline this offseason, I really can’t wait to see how the young men do in camp…Personally I feel like the defensive line is the make or break unit for our season…..but what do I know….I’m just some guy. Anything you can bring us Mr. Tsai is well appreciated!
Bring back Kennedy please! Is Fred Ulu-Perry as good as Dejon Allen?
Phil Steele said our OL will be one of the best in the MW! Can’t wait for our boys to open big holes for St Juste–I predict we will lead the MW in rushing this year!
If Ales is back at DT…..maybe that is a good sign. Maybe our OL is good enough that Ales is not needed there. We also lost Naotala for the year so bringing Sunia back to the DLine will allow for a rotation.
O line do not rotate. The same 5 play the bulk of the game unless injury or lousy play but does not sub.players in and out like the D Line does. If we get the best O Line in the MW then reason to mess with it.
Bottom line might be that we need Sunia more on D.
Kahuna:
your reasoning is sound — for games with UH winning by 3 or more TDs — perhaps good time to send in a fresh front 5
my concern is the lack of playing time for the others looking into the future — if most of the OL graduates by 2018, then UH will be faced with an inexperienced OL in 2019 or 2020 — and then, there are the injuries, on and off field, or player decides to move on
dang ah lang gah — hope I’m still around in 2020!!!
Kahuna, I like and agree with what you wrote. Sunia on defense this season makes sense.
Morning Tsaikos!
Nice write up. #25 out of 30.

Thanks for that link Letterman. It’s good to read something positive about UH as it seems like the tide is turning.
ST, do the new recruits participate in the off season conditioning drills. It would be nice to see some pics of them to get familiar with their faces.
