GO WARRIORS !!!
Devan to be a slot or WR?
Found this on another board.
From Kauai: “Rolo said Dru left because he didn’t like Hawaii”.
Hawaii or the coaching staff? Because others that left include Keala Santiago and Viane Moala, two players with strong ties to Hawaii. Plus the list of players that transferred include Dylan Collie, Daniel Lewis Jr, Anthony Mermea and Brandon Kipper. These are either starters or players that had a chance t start.
Nice to have Ursua back!
Don’t care about those that have moved on as I have moved on already.
Can’t wait until our newbies are in da hale!
Go Warriors!
I’ll give you credit John Ursua. How much is Bernard P. Carvalho jr.(Kaua’i mayor) and Dave Matlin (athletic director) or Jim Harbaugh (NFL coach) getting paid with their intelligence, of just that?
Ursua looks great – happy he’s out there with the others.
Ursua and Byrd gonna be dangerous in the Run & Shoot. I can’t wait…
As for the guys that left, it’s not like Moala left to go play for some small school – he transferred to a power 5 program. Santiago was not great at tackling. Collie needed a fresh start where he can escape his history of bad drops. Brown regressed and played tentative last season. Lewis didn’t have that great of a season last year and we got other guys who have more potential. Kipper and Mermea were unfortunate losses. but our best players, Tavai and Ursua stayed.
Glad to see Ursua and Stubblefield out there healthy! Praying that they last thru December! Go Bows!
The light is on but nobody is home.
Brown, Collie and Lewis earned their degrees, so they can do whatever they wish. They fulfilled their UH obligations.
Not sure Moala wanted to leave, so I hope it all works out at UH.
For whatever it’s worth, I thought Santiago should have stayed. He would have done very well as a nickelback in Corey Batoon’s system, as well as under Batoon’s coaching.
if I were Mermea, I would have stayed … at least for a year. He has no college film. He should have played a year, then transferred, if that were his goal. Or stayed. But leaving after a semester to go to a JC, well … to each his own.
And it probably was in Kipper’s best interest to get a fresh start somewhere else.
Only focusing on our future! Great to have Ursua back!
Still on The Garden Island? No, I don’t know any other blogger on the blog. Just Savich and the gang. Ursua is still in rehabilitation. Torn ACL. Serious injury actually.
You really need help Savich, koh-i-nor, or dean sabado. hope help finds you soon
Thanks for the Hyannis link. There are archived webcasts. I think Dylan Thomas will make it to “The Show”.
Does anybody know what happened to Lenny Linsky’s career?
3.
I recall baseball player Kevin Curtis intuiting that he didn’t like Hawaii. When Curtis said that he was nobody, in regard to signing autographs, I don’t think it was modesty. And then he transffered to, I think, Pepperdine. I took it as he not liking the people of Hawaii.
#16 there was once a player (Webb? 1B) who said to the effect that the coaches wanted him to change his swing and he didn’t want to change (he didn’t hit very well) and he didn’t want to do other things that were suggested, then wondered why he didn’t get to play much. Duh.
I think the word I was looking for was “insinuating”.
What is the point of saying what about someone leaving because they didn’t like Hawaii. Talk like that is how false information spreads

Mr. Tsai you can delete my post too, no problem.
#5 … “Haka” … I could not agree with you more … heard Kipper transferred because
he was late for practice & few times & the entire team had to run “gassers” after practice in full pads … of course the team wasn’t too happy about that so he was held accountable to the team … wish Mermea would’ve given it a chance … happy for Daniel Lewis, degree in hand with a chance to play in front of family & friends in Louisiana … honestly it appears we may not miss these other guys … cautiously optimistic about a decent ’18 Season as we transition back to the R & S … hope our new Defensive & ST schemes help keep us in the game …
LIVE ALOHA / PLAY WARRIOR / DEFEND THE ROCK … GO ‘BOWS … !!!!!
beautiful day in the valley — sunshine, brisk breeze, low humidity
ah, Hawaii nei!
BTW, a shout out to all our SoCal and NoCal brothers and three in the Great State of Texas, one in Alabama and DC, 2 or 3 in New York!
let those who chose to leave disappear — let’s concentrate on those who STAYED!!!!!!!!!!!
in the recent past, UH did have a large OL, but the opponent’s DL was better.
hoping for a reversal in 2018 with the new coaches on offense and defense — GO COACHES!!!!!!!!!!
and PLAYERS!!!!!!!!!!
Savich.
I would characterize this blog as a nice “medium sized potato”. It is interesting to see all these differing opinions expressed in the many different ways here. Always civil and in good taste as the “terms of service” requests, and always enjoyable. There may be a few who post regularly and some who post occasionally (and definitely no ‘bots’), but there are also a lot of lurkers as well so this blog may be more popular than you think it is. You can figure it out and keep your posts on topic with everyone else’s and not so much off tangent. You can do it.
We all love UH athletics here…….even Savich
