Opening practice: Tavai, Chung are back
Middle linebacker Jahlani Tavai and center Kaiwi Chung participated in today’s first practice of training camp. This summer, they were withheld from team activities while school officials investigated their role in a June 9 scuffle. They were arrested on misdemeanor accusations. But no charges have been filed. They participated in last week’s pep rally downtown, and they were involved in all phases of practice today.
Also:
> The Warriors ran two huddles simultaneously today in an effort to provide more work for the newcomers. Quarterbacks Cole McDonald, Chevan Cordeiro and Justin Uahinui were in one group; quarterbacks Jeremy Moussa, Kolney Cassel and Tanner Darling were in the other. Darling was used mostly as a receiver.
> Running back Melvin Davis has been medically cleared and resumed practicing. He suffered a knee injury last training camp and missed the 2017 season.
> We can gauge speed with the 40-yard dash. But quickness? That’s a little more difficult to measure. But know this: wideout JoJo Ward is very quick.
> Kicker Kekoa Sasaoka received full clearance today and is officially a Warrior.
> Defensive lineman Foi Sila is now known as Foi Shaw.
IT’S TIME FOR FOOTBALL BAYBEEEE!!!!
After Ursua went down last year our receiving corps had a hard time creating space. Hopefully the new guys help open up the passing lanes this year.
Yippeeee!!!

LS Noah Borden.

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) –
For the second-straight season, Rainbow Warrior football long snapper Noah Borden has been named to the Wuerffel Trophy watch list.
The trophy is awarded to a player who exemplifies exemplary community service, athletic performance and academic achievement. Borden enters the 2019 campaign as a three-time academic all-Mountain West selection.
The Pearl City native is one of 21 returning student-athletes to the watch list and is currently in a pool of 106 student-athletes. The formal announcement of the 2018 recipient will be made at the National Football Foundation’s press conference in New York City on December 4.
Lance Takaki, my fondest memory of you was at the banquet where they played a video of you on a magic carpet. I remember Coach Wallace saying that you and your teammates didnโt know that he paid for it. I guess the team was at Disneyland?
Gotta support ’em no matter what….
Go Warriors!!
Best of Luck in 2018 University of Hawai’i and Warrior Nation! “Let’s Run and Shoot ‘um!” Aloha~

Come support our team on the road at Army, SJSU, Colorado St. and SDSU: I again will have tickets for hundreds of Hawaii fans to sit together at the best available seats as close to our team bench. Text me: 415-324-0585
Is Ward a wideout primarily? I can’t wait to see how they package all these receivers. So good.
ST – are all the pop-ups on the Home StarAdvertiser Sports page the cause of my lock-ups? I have no problems accessing the blog site, once I kill the task.
Go Warriors !!
What’s the real reason that Dru Brown left for Oklahoma State? It’s unheard of that an incumbent starting QB transfers. From my view, it shows a total lack of confidence in your abilities to give up your starting role. Was Dru scared off by returning to the run-and-shoot?
This opens up the QB competition and hopefully someone will emerge to be the leader, like some of our past great QBs (Gabriel, Chang, Rolovich, Brennan) that could will us to victory. Who will step up?
Go Warriors !
GO WARRIORS
ALOHA! FROM LA!!!
MANEO!!!
Faith, support! Looking forward to this years edition of Warrior football.
Was @ practice yesterday … loved what I saw … QB’s who can throw, Sasaoka can kick, & even though they’re only listed @ 5-10, 5-9, & 5-9 respective, Warrior Fans will love it when John Ursua, Cedric Byrd, & JoJo Ward are on the field together … one last thing … was great meeting you Mr Tsai …
LIVE ALOHA / PLAY WARRIOR / DEFEND THE ROCK … GO ‘BOWS … !!!!!

LIVE ALOHA / PLAY WARRIOR / DEFEND THE ROCK … GO ‘BOWS … !!!!!
It seems the older you get the football offseason can lower a mans testosterone and energy level. Iโll probably be following the Alliance league when itโs starts next spring.
GO WARRIORS!!! IMUA LANAKILA …. HERE WE GO GANGY!!!
Bulla,
Weren’t you the RA at Frear Hall during the early 80’s?
Go Warriors !
Bryant Moniz is on the Hamilton sideline for another chance. Didn’t realize Manziel was traded to Montreal.
Try check out their itinerary? Just could not make it today.
#22 … “azwarrior22” … they’re 2 reasons Brown opted to transfer but I’d rather not say it in a public forum … I will say this … we do have pretty good speed to go long vertically in the passing game & 1 thing Dru did not have was accuracy in throwing the long ball … if he did stay right now I would say he would not start vs Colorado State … it’ll be a great summer with great competition on who wins the starting job …
LIVE ALOHA / PLAY WARRIOR / DEFEND THE ROCK … GO ‘BOWS … !!!!!
