Kapolei’s Faumui commits to Warriors
One of the state’s top players — Aaron Faumui of Kapolei High — told the Star-Advertiser he has accepted a scholarship from the Warriors.
Faumui cited the Warriors’ “family” atmosphere as a large factor in his decision. He also received offers from Virginia, Florida, Wisconsin and Oregon.
Faumui played on both sides of the line. He is projected to play the 3-technique on UH’s defensive line. He had 20 tackles for loss and 14 sacks last year, according to Kapolei coach Darren Hernandez.
“He plays with a nasty streak and has a good motor,” Hernandez said.
Faumui’s uncle is Taase Faumui, a former Farrington High and UH defensive end who played in the NFL.

Great news, should warm Jeezy’s heart.
Wow. Now we gotta make more room on the bandwagon.
Awesome. Let’s go February 7!
That leaves room for Panoke and just 1 more.
Sweeeeeeet nectar get!!!

Actually I think we have 3-4 more spots to fill. But I could be wrong.
Nice! Coach Rolo keeps reeling in the big ones! Mahalo for choosing the Warriors, Aaron!
Never a bot check these days. Love it!
Sweet to get some good Warrior football news! Saw him play on TV, solid and IMO key anchor for the Hurricane’s D Line. He’s going to get bigger and stronger for sure. Also remember Uncle Taase, a beast!
It’s looking goood!!
Wow! What a terrific core to build your entire defense around for next 3 to 5 years. Russell, Mermea, Kahahawai-Welch, Rittner, Taala, and now Faamui. Logo has produced a couple of NFL guys so the “sky is the limit” on this group. Mold em’ while they’re young. I cant wait to see it.
Now this is a big one…
Best since Kennedy
Post No. 30 on two blogs ago – A-House.
The legislature appropriated $3 million of UH athletics for 2016-17 ( $300,000 was for Hilo). Then for 2017-18 and 2018-19, they appropriated $3 million each year for travel costs to come from the HTA budget.
Looks like the D Line may be the heart of the defense for the next 3 to 5 years. Very nice core group of youth building up. Russell, Mermea, Kahahawai-Welch, Rittner, Taala, and now Faumui. All freshmen.Terrific. Logo has produced next level talent so he should be raring to go with the all of the guys. The “sky is the limit” for the us. I cant wait to see it.
Now this is what I was hoping for. Nice surprise. Yes!!!
Now, this is a very legit catch—kudos to the coaching staff-very solid.
Howzit Everybody,
Now this is a nice get. Now to firm up Mermea’s commitment to the team and we will have a D-Line to be reckon with.
Need to firm up the other side of the line now. I think we have quantity there, just not sure we have the play now quality. We need to find starting O Tackles.
Let’s show Mermea the love.

I still can’t believe it! Thank you, Aaron Faumui for believing in Hawaii.
FYI, Kyfense Hynson poached Kipper to Oregon State.
Good job by Coach Rolovich and his staff. Still plugging away, in spite of all of the negativity and Pilikia flying around.
Salt Lake Trib article on Dylan Collie. Mentioned that Rolo’s only condition is that he could not transfer to a MWC school. Sounds fair to me.

AWESOME … beat out some big name programs for him … Mahalo for staying @ home …
LIVE ALOHA / PLAY WARRIOR / DEFEND THE ROCK … GO ‘BOWS … !!!!!
Lots of freshmen but will they play their 1st year? I think they gonna have to. same for the O.
Great Morning All!
Welcome Mr. Faumui.
Faumui, Taala, Sila as a PWO add immediately to sorely need help and depth at DL. We have a couple of RS that will contribute and recruited enough outside help to completely remake the defensive front solidly. I figure only four or five scholarships left and hoping to land two OL in Dalpe and Vaipulu. The remaining two or three you can throw in the air! GoWarriors !!!!!!
Defense looking to make solid gains.
I like it! Big hanapa’a right dea! Was lucky to get a glove from Ta’ase after a game back in the day. That guy was a beast and Andrew will be one too! It’s about OHANA baby! Let’s put pen to paper on the 7th!!
Think we are at 21 signees and commits including Panoke. That leaves four scholarships left. Not sure how Borden or Taala figure based on previous offers extended. Pretty sure two of the remaining will be spent on OL. Based on current commits and roster alignments I figure a few from DL or at least one will move to the offensive side of the ball on the interior. Both fronts should be adequately stocked with enough moving parts to put together good units on both sides of the ball. It will certainly be a tremendous advantage to have proven and experienced coaches on the staff to teach the new guys and any conversions the techniques and nuances of the positions. With a few more coveted additions this appears to me to be overall one of the most solid classes in years. Some of these guys will be ready to contribute from the get go!
Do my friends here on the blog think this is shaping up to be another very good year for recruits. similar to last year?
Jeezy? Al?
What say you folks?
The more information comes out regarding at least one of the transfers, the more I’m just glad they departed. I’m of the world of you and you alone are responsible for developing your potential-coaches and teammates can provide support guidance and direction. You choose those things from each element that contribute to your progress but umtimately you are the one that determines the outcome-GoWarriors!!!!
we cannot chose who our parents will be nor what we look like.
but, we chose what we will become.
polite way to pass wind: in a supermarket — hold it until you reach the soap/detergent section.
Sorry Mr. A-house I just let it fly because I can walk really fast. Can’t wait to see the final signing list. Go warriors
Raider Dogs:
you mo fast than me!
GOOD MORNING, HAWAII!
STEPHEN: Happy to see you back
We have/had the offensive players the past few years but we need better play calling, hopefully next year! Last year seemed like Chow ball by utilizing DSJ way too much up the middle and not utilizing the TE’s. At least we are finally beefing up the D-line which is the bread and butter of the past great defenses.
