Can Hawaii run against the Mountain West’s best defense?
Will the Froot Train make an appearance?
Answer coming up in five minutes.
* * * * *
In the biggest game since joining the Mountain West in 2012, the Warriors play host to San Diego State at Aloha Stadium.
A crowd of about 25,000 is expected.
The Aztecs already have claimed at least a share of the West Division title. But tonight’s winner will get to represent the West in the Dec. 7 Mountain West title game.
The Warriors have one of the nation’s top passing attacks. The Aztecs have one of the best defenses.
KImpira!
Us 27

Go Bows! 🌈
Huzzah, ‘Bows!
Ugly win but I’ll take it. Seems like refs were very flag happy in this game.
Great win against tough defensive team. Kinda beat them at their own game on both sides of the ball
Wow!….great game. Warrior Defense showed up and everytime they do, great things happen.
Game reminded me of the Warriors of old. Great defenses and the chance to win it in the 4th qtr.
Really a team win tonight.
Good weekend…Wahine Volleyball and now Warrior football….Championship Week!
Congratulations Coach Rolovich, assistants, team, and their fans. What a great win, against the coaches poll #25 team. Hawaii is going to play fifteen games. Amazing. I have family who went to all the games during the lean years. They deserve this.
Boise State will be cold on dec. 7. Better pack the beanies and gloves.
#8 – Inyoface – I’ve been to all the home games this year and this is the first time I can remember UH not being having excessive penalties (only 6-47 yards). I know there were games where they had 90 to 100 yards+ worth of penalties. I think in at least a game or two, penalties at crucial times might have cost them the game. Tonight either they played more disciplined and have cleaned things up or the referees just weren’t as flag happy as they usually are with UH. Hopefully, it’s the former rather than the latter.
That holding call for eletise was bogus, the other guy fell to the ground.
I wanted more points. 🙄
Was that too much to ask?
We don’t watch 🏈ball to experience a chess match.
Hawaii played tough! Good win against my Aztecs! I used to live in Hawaii Kai but make no mistake I’m a haole from the mainland. Miss Oahu & congrats on the win!

More importantly they didn’t have any stupid selfish penalties. SDSU is the one that had a unsportsmanlike that really killed that one drive and allowed UH to get the ball back
15 you play to win – period.
The Aztecs have two more votes than UH in the coaches poll.
Beat SDSU back to back. Missed FG played a role in both contests. Now go beat Army and finish 9-4! GoWarriors!!!!!
With a win over Army Coach Rolovich can get his overall record to 26-26.
Punt… Trust your defense…. Incomplete. Incomplete. incomplete. First down run. Incomplete. Long completion. Short completion for field goal range. Missed FG from a team with real good kicking game. …Victory formation. ….[Check Mate]…..Sound exactly like Chess…. Awesome
#14, sorry but Eletise was having difficulty blocking smaller quicker D-linemen, so he hung his arm over the guy to slow down their rush. He did this a lot. I am surprised he wasn’t called for holding more often.
San Diego St has strong, physical corners. Seal you off on the “hip twist” locating the ball. That’s how stronger CB’s operate. One JC CB like that to pair with Davis would be unreal. One JC DT pass rush specialist too. Defense got a real chance to be unbelievable next season. Especially if they play as disciplined as they did last night.
was there except for the last 4 minutes cause I promised family we would leave with 5 minutes left
great win — saw 2 rainbows across Halawa Valley as we walked over the overpass from Aiea elementary — inner feeling that UH would win — me, yes, I believe in symbolism!!!
can beat Army, but Boise at home will be difficult especial if a stinging ‘cold front’ comes down from Canada
i would prefer UH plays in the HAWAII Bowl so we can attend — no more enough moola to go mainland
for those in the know — how does UH fare on the 2020 defensive side?
enough DL? LB? CB? SAFETY?
OL only loses Hensely — also lose Ward and Byrd, but replacements in hand or on the way?
ok for those in the know – can UH expect more transfers back home?
BTW, Maddog50 — very cold, nasty weather headed your way — keep safe!
Sailor Blue:
got Cabana A for Army game? start time for cooking crew and food? going be more like dinner rather than lunch?
game starts at 1930 hours
21. Rolovich is already at 26-26 W-L .
A-House — seeing you post today reminded me of Tracy’s retirement photos today in Facebook after 34 years at UH. Her blog name was “Kinda Shy” and she wanted to met the Tsai-ko in Nay 2007 so hosted a cattle call at Gordan Biersch. We all knew or recognized each other except for you. I assumed you came with Tracy or Princess Leila. Anyway, that was your first cattle call. 🙂
Losing Bryd, Ward and Sharsh next season seems like big loss but I like the potential of those behind them. Kumoku Noa should be back at slot along with LIncoln VIctor(who I think will be more produce more YAC due to his ability to run in the open field). James Philips is a track guy and could easily break off big runs in the open field. Ealy, Mardner and maybe Panoke will give us size on the outside.
Ward and Byrd had some drops this year. I don’t think they performed that well this year. What have made this year special is the ability to run the ball and counter the 8 man drop. Last season, we had trouble running the ball effectively.
With Holly and Reed coming back and hopefully Keliiliki improving his play, we should be solid offensive. The entire Oline will be back except for Hensley but we will get Bubba Wa’a full time and Kohl Levao coming back along with Tanuvasa being eligible and Eletise getting full time reps.
Celebrate the MWC West Division Champs and say aloha to the Seniors at the annual banquet on 12/1. Deadline is Monday, 11/25. Call 956-4513 on Monday.

Kinda Shy and JD doing quite well. She still “purdy” and JD kinda like Slim Jim now.
I wanna give Sharsh and tag…”Spiderman” had some sticky fingers on the TD.
oops….a
Great Win, lets enjoy this momentous achievement as Hawaii fans. But starting Monday it time to get ready for Army and send the Seniors off with a win.
Not sure why we seemed to always start a drive from within the 10. Kinda weird.
#28 Islandman you are correct Saturday’s win put Coach Rolovich at .500. I want this last one bad. Army has had two easy ones and have a similar distraction with Navy game after us. Want the seniors to exit 9-4.
37. SDSU’s punter has NFL talent.
Defense, Defense and more Defensive recruiting and Hawaii will be a winning program for a long, long time. Keep the R&S in place, tweak the running game to compliment and Hawaii will be in the AP polls again…….
Cory Batoon, your starting to show your worth!!!!! Rolo, your taking this……. your team to the promised land.
University of Hawaii, PAY THE MAN……(ROLO)
Def needs more than 2 players, more like 4 minimum. UH’s D seems to defend better against more conventional Offenses. They better play well against Army, should be easier than AF. REVENGE GAME FROM LAST TIME when UH played crappy. Cole “The Deer” Mcdunno got sloppy on enough occasions that’s why he got pulled from what I gather. Neva run when he should have and threw into very tight coverage on the INT. Saw Stutzman kinda yell at him coming off the field. Rolo had to be kind as to why McDunno was pulled. Good move
Really wish thetitle game was in Vegas, instead of the smurf turf. Oh well hopefully we can pull off the win!
If Hawaii defense can hold both Army & Boise St. To 21 points each, Hawaii should win both games.
Batoon, you have your work cut out
SteveM:
hope you are doing well and on your road to recovery!
yep, Midori7 mentioned the Tsaikos and encourage me to attend the cattle call which became my first of a long line of eating well
sat next to Tom M and Darren the engineer across from Tsai — yep, no one knew who I was.
Happy Thanksgiving Tsaikos! 🦃
