Free camp … John Noland … island tour

You don’t have Bruno Mars tickets.

Not to worry. You still can experience the thrill and action of performing under the Aloha Stadium lights.

No, we’re not giving you Bruno tickets. We’re not Bots.

But there’s still time to sign up for 808 Passing Academy’s free clinic tomorrow at Aloha Stadium.

It runs from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Aloha Stadium. Former UH quarterback Sean Schroeder is putting on the clinic, and is picking up the tab for the stadium rental and other expenses. Each participant — up to high school-aged — receives a shirt and expert coaching on the passing (and receiving) game from such notables as quarterback guru Vince Passas and Greg Salas, UH’s career receiving leader.

Camp is free. To register, go to: 808passingacademy.com

One of the nice guys in sportscasting — John Noland — needs your prayers.

He’s worked in the business for decades, and once was partnered with Les Keiter on KHON sportscasts.

Noland was a multi-sport athlete at Maryknoll School. He once played for — here goes, trivia buffs — the Hummers. Leon Schumaker was the head coach.

Please take a moment to think good thoughts about John and his family.

This past week, the Warriors went coast-to-coast with football clinics on the West side on Tuesday (Waianae High and Kapolei High), and Central Oahu (Mililani) and North Shore (Laie Park) yesterday.

    Fast healing to Mr. Noland.

I started at UHS towards the end of the Hummers and the beginning of Pac-5. Mr. Schumacher was one of my teachers in intermediate school. He was tough but caring. I miss him.

    GO WARRIORS!
    GO WAHINE!

    I’m still not a robot.

#6 – Are you sure you’re not a bot? jm2375 sure sounds like a robot’s name. Can you please tell us your whereabouts when tickets for Bruno Mars went on sale?

Shout out goes to Sean Schroeder for giving back to his adopted aina!

    Healing prayers to John Noland.

Doesn’t look like many attended the Laie clinic. Kudos to the coaches for coaching up those that came.

Love the player workouts. You play how you practice.

Hope Vanterpool works hard to earn a starting spot….but not at quarterback.

I think there were 50 kids at Laie camp.
I was impressed with the coaches’ enthusiasm.
