Thomas pitches for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks: Hawks link

Thomas has pitched three innings in three games, with four strikeouts, four walks, a save and 3.00 ERA.

Fogel plays for the Chatham Anglers: Anglers link

Kauai has had it rough with the floods and other circumstances. But those kind Garden Islanders keep giving back. Tonight, there is a fund-raiser on Kauai for the Warriors.

    Chevan or Cole?
    Can’t tell. No pads yet.
But Moussa has a terrific arm.

ST, Is Derek Thomas ballin?? Hopefully he’s being used in a hybrid role. Got some JGW type athleticism to me. But haven’t seen him yet. Mostly what I saw in his clips. LB in HS, Edge Rusher in JC. Can do both.

    Jeezy:
His pass rushing looks pretty good.
I haven’t really seen him in coverage.

based on his hudl highlights, Moussa is the guy I want to see flinging the ball.

hope UH OC and others create a play similar to the “trick play” used by both 2018 Super Bowl teams – one successful for a TD — other pass way over the QB head

let Moussa be the left/right wideout – QB goes into a pistol formation leaving the RB to get the snap — QB has now moved into a position behind the slot who is on the LOS — Moussa takes 3 steps back when ball centered – – RB, whose is really a seldom used QB,takets the snap and fakes looking down field – quickly throws the ball to Moussa who finds the QB running towards the sideline ready to catch the pass and go for long yardage or TD!

Tell you what, if UH doesn’t pull out all offensive stops they going down the tubes like last year. Mark my words. So far, the O has shown no balls!! Also, the State Government should give more support to probably the most visible activity in our state and nationally that may even rival the volcano! Not quite but you guys know the score.

I think we need to roll with Cole to start the year. He has nice size, wheels, and decent enough arm. If he falters then we can give the Freshmen a shot, but I think Cole will be a really good QB for us.

From watching Derek Thomas’ highlights, what i really liked is that he wraps up and tackles instead of going for the big hits.

  11. PONO June 22, 2018 7:32 am

If we are going to take our lumps this year we may as well go with Chevan. I don’t see Cole being a good fit for this offense. Cole couldn’t win the job when the offense was RPO which was his bread and butter. He will struggle as a pocket QB.

  12. Bows1055 June 22, 2018 8:46 am

I think Pono is right. If we’re going with the run n shoot then Cordeiro is the guy.

  13. H-Man June 22, 2018 9:46 am

IMO, Chevan Cordeiro is the local favorite, but Cole McDonald will be the starting QB.
