Ganot on Fleming situation
This won’t settle the Isaac Fleming drama much at all, but a small update is better than no update.
Hawaii coach Eran Ganot told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser on Thursday that Fleming is dealing with “personal issues.” The coach did not provide a timetable for Fleming’s return.
Whether Fleming will be back for the Nov. 13 season opener seems very much in question. Per a source, that could go either way.
Here was Ganot’s full quote: “Isaac is working through some personal issues and has been given time off to get things in order.”
There was no further elaboration.
It’s usually tough to get a team to state for the record the reason for such things when “personal matters” are invoked. Sometimes there are privacy rules in play.
Columnist Dave Reardon has a full column (subscriber content) on the matter in Friday’s print edition of the Star-Advertiser.
Meanwhile, UH held a closed-door scrimmage (no media or public allowed) on Thursday against BYU-Hawaii.
The team resumes regular practice on Friday as preparations continue for next Thursday’s exhibition against Chaminade.
Personal matter could be a ton of different things
Issac should have a breakout year A little older and wiser. We hope all goes well and he stays.
Isaac,
Hope you return to the team soon. Looking forward to a great year! We support you. Go Bows!
