As expected, Ikaika Woolsey has been named the starting quarterback for the season opener against California in Australia.
And the pick is in. Nick Rolovich has selected the No. 1 quarterback for the season opener, but will delay the public announcement until after meeting with the players this afternoon. “I want to talk to the guys,” Rolovich said after this morning’s 2-hour practice at the Ching Athletic Complex. “I’d rather the team know first. We’ll get it out as soon as we get everyone understanding what the situation is.” Ikaika Woolsey, who is widely considered the top contender, […]
The Warriors do not have a No. 1 quarterback. They have three. The quarterback derby has been whittled to three, with junior-college transfer Cole Brownholtz working with the scout offense today. We’ll probably get a few more days in, and probably shoot for […]

It was a good night for the offense — the line, quarterbacks and receivers had their moments — and the defense responded in the final three “quarters.” To note: > The players selected nine members to the leadership council — quarterback Ikaika Woolsey, offensive lineman Leo Koloamatangi, wideout Marcus Kemp, running back Steven Lakalaka, defensive end Makani Kema-Kaleiwahea, nose tackle Kory Rasmussen, safeties Daniel Lewis […]
Tonight’s private scrimmage at Aloha Stadium will help shape the Warriors’ depth chart. The Warriors are treating this as a full-on dress rehearsal. The team will arrive at 4 p.m., then go through all the pre-game rituals. Media relations even will be there at 3 p.m. to set up equipment. First play is at 6 p.m. For the mostly full-contact scrimmage — the quarterbacks, as usual, will be exempt from big hits — there will be coaches in the booth […]
This morning, the Warriors made their final public appearance ahead of the season opener against California in Australia. (The Warriors will have a scrimmage tomorrow evening in Aloha Stadium. Former UH players are invited to attend the private event.) In today’s 2-hour practice: > Quarterback Ikaika Woolsey had his best outing of training camp, going 7-for-7 in situational drills. “The receivers did a great job of running great routes and getting open,” Woolsey said. “I tried to get them the […]
