With the Hawaii soccer team facing a one-goal deficit in the second half, the Rainbow Wahine fired nine attempts on frame in an attempt to equalize. Smith stopped them all en route to an 11-save effort in a 1-0 Aggies win over the Wahine to open Big West Conference play on Thursday. UH coach Michele Nagamine […]

By Brian McInnis on September 24, 2017

It’s a safe bet the Hawaii soccer team won’t take home some weekly hardware Monday, a first in three weeks. That’s through no fault of the Rainbow Wahine; they were completely off from game action for the past week after winning their last three nonconference road games. By Brian McInnis on September 11, 2017

Hawaii goalkeeper Lex Mata was named the Big West soccer defensive player of the week today, on the heels of her eight-save shutout performance in a 2-0 win at Idaho State last Tuesday. It is the first career PoW honor for the junior — who earned full-time starting keeper status in the preseason — and the first weekly award, offense or defense, for a Rainbow Wahine player this season. From UH media relations, here’s a compilation of some of Mata’s nice […]
