Hawaii men’s volleyball: Big West tournament tickets going fast

As of noon on Wednesday, about 7,100 ticket packages had been sold for the Big West men’s volleyball tournament Thursday through Saturday at the Stan Sheriff Center, according to Hawaii athletic director David Matlin. If you wanted to buy tickets for UH’s semifinal match Friday (and possible title game appearance Saturday), you had to buy the complete tourney package (including first-round games Thursday that do not feature the host team). Big West MVB awards announced, Hawaii overlooked for big ones

The 2019 Big West men’s volleyball postseason awards were announced on Monday. Here’s the breaking writeup. IMHO a big surprise that Coach of Year went to the Long Beach State’s Alan Knipe. Player of the Year to Beach senior Kyle Ensing. Freshman of the Year to UCSB’s Ryan Wilcox, Punahou. Hawaii has five on the first team, Beach has four. Patrick Gasman, Rado Parapunov, Stijn van Tilburg, Gage and Joe Worsley.
