Hawaii men’s volleyball: Josh Walker named AVCA assistant coach of the year; Nebraska loses to Stanford

University of Hawaii men’s volleyball assistant coach Josh Walker was named the 2019 AVCA Assistant Coach of the Year today. Walker, a second-team AVCA All-American in 2010 for the Warriors, completed his fourth season on head coach Charlie Wade’s staff in 2019. He is the first UH assistant coach to win the award since it debuted in 2010. The U.S. men’s national team, with three players with Hawaii ties on the roster, won its pool at the NORCECA Continental Championship on Wednesday with a 25-17, 25-21, 25-22 victory over Cuba in Winnipeg, Canada. Sorry for the late post on Jolie Rasmussen. Was out on errands. From the Big West Hawaii junior hitter Jolie Rasmussen was named the Big West Player of the Week on Monday. Rasmussen led Hawaii to a 3-0 start to the season including a pair of upsets over nationally ranked opponents.
