Hawaii men’s volleyball: Season ticket sales up

Hawaii has sold over 2,100 season-ticket packages so far, the most since 2005 when they had 2,310. And so it begins — #Warriorball20. Hawaii held the first of two practices today in Gym 1, 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Players were excited to get it started. Hawaii men’s volleyball: Rainbow Warriors preseason No. 1 in Big West

Hawaii, preseason No. 1 in the AVCA coaches poll, was the unanimous choice to win the Big West in 2020 as voted by the league’s coaches. The Warriors collected all six first-place votes and 36 points. UC Santa Barbara was in second place with 28 points, while two-time reigning national champion Long Beach State was third with 23 points. Congrats to Brooke Van Sickle, named to the Wisconsin regional all-tournament team. She was the only Wahine named. Also on the team: Molly Haggerty (MVP), Sydney Hilley and Dana Rettke, Wisconsin; Jazz Sweet and Lexi Sun, Nebraska; Hollan Hans, Texas A&M. Hawaii volleyball: Warriors sign Chakas, updated NCAA scores

Preseason No. 1 Hawaii has added the second player from Greece in as many men’s volleyball seasons, announcing the signing of Spyros Chakas from Athens on Friday The 6-foot-4 outside hitter is one of four signees for the 2021 season. Freshman Dimitrios Mouchlias, a 6-6 middle on the current Rainbow Warrior roster, is from Soufli, Greece. Chakas chose Hawaii over Long Beach State and Pepperdine.
