The Hawaii women’s volleyball team was waiting on one contract, which was returned this morning by St. John’s, for its 2019 schedule. The schedule (in full below) has been updated to reflect that the Red Storm are in the opening tournament. UCLA, Washington and San Diego headline three of the nonconference volleyball tournaments this season, Hawaii announced today. Hawaii volleyball: Emily Maglio makes Canadian national team, Stijn van Tilburg named academic all-district

The road trips will continue for Emily Maglio. The indoor and beach volleyball was one of 18 players selected to the Canadian Indoor National Team. Maglio, who most recently earned AVCA All-America honorable mention honors in beach volleyball earlier this week, will be competing with Team Canada at the Challenge Cup — a continental pre-qualifier for the Volleyball Nations League to be held in Chateaugauay, Quebec — from May 31-June 2. Hawaii’s Rado Parapunov (Bulgaria) and Stijn van Tilburg (Netherlands) were named to Off The Block’s All-Euro collegiate team. Van Tilburg led all pin hitters and was second in the nation with a .457 attack percentage, along with being in the nation’s top 15 averaging 3.82 kills per game. Hawaii beach volleyball: Norene Iosia joins SandBows

Now that spring indoor practice is done, Rainbow Wahine rising senior setter Norene Iosia will join the Hawaii beach volleyball team officially as of today. She was on the beach team for a bit in 2017, going 10-3 with Hannah Zalopany between March 10 and April 2. Hawaii has its inaugural “Alumnae Salute” exhibition starting at 1 p.m. Saturday. The SandBows then go for their fourth consecutive conference title at the Big West tournament April 26-27 at Zuma Beach, Calif.
