Hawaii men’s volleyball: Patrick Gasman named No. 2 blocker at NORCECA Cup

Hawaii senior middle Patrick Gasman was named the second-best blocker when helping the U.S. to a silver medal at the NORCECA Champions Cup men’s volleyball tournament in Colorado Springs, Colo. Gasman had eight kills in Saturday’s 28-26, 25-20, 27-29, 26-24 loss to Canada. He led the U.S. in kills with 11 in Friday’s 3-1 loss to Cuba with one block. Kamehameha graduate Puna Kaniho is the new volunteer assistant coach for the Rainbow Wahine. He’s been at practice in an unofficial capacity so waited until UH made its announcement. Kaniho returns home after playing volleyball and earning two degrees from Grand Canyon. Kaniho received his Bachelor of Science in sports management in 2016 and then earned his Master’s in Business Administration in sports business in 2018. He finished his four-year career with the Lopes ranked fourth all-time with 1,249 assists. […]
