The 2019 College World Series finalists — champion Vanderbilt and runner-up Michigan — will be heading to a UH baseball calendar. The Rainbow Warriors will play Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn., in March in the first year of a home-and-home series. Mike Trapasso said the Commodores initiated the contact. Former UH pitcher Dylan Thomas is in a Sunshine state — geographically and emotionally — after signing a contract with the Minnesota Twins. The signing took place this morning at the Twins’ training facility in Florida. Thomas said he will receive a $100,000 signing bonus. Thomas is expected to be assigned to the Elizabethon (Tenn.) Shortstop Maaki Yamazaki today was named to the All-Big West first team as a utility player. Yamazaki hit .308 while striking out a team-fewest 7.6 percent of his at bats. After suffering a shoulder injury on April 24, he was used at second base and designated hitter.
