Hawaii men’s basketball coach Eran Ganot takes medical leave

UH basketball coach Eran Ganot will be taking a temporary medical leave of absence, school officials announced today in a news release. Ganot is expected to miss this weekend’s season-opening Outrigger Resorts Rainbow Classic in the Stan Sheriff Center. 6-6 guard Beon Ja Riley commits to Hawaii basketball

A top high school guard from San Diego has accepted a scholarship offer from the University of Hawaii basketball team. Beon Ja Riley of Cathedral Catholic High told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser he will sign a 2020 letter of intent with the Rainbow Warriors. Hawaii baseball: 53-game schedule includes national champ Vanderbilt

The Hawaii baseball team announced an ambitious 2020 schedule that features a road series against defending championship Vanderbilt. The Rainbow Warriors will play 53 games, including a three-weekend stretch in which Pac-12 opponents Washington State and Oregon will bookend the road trip against Vanderbilt. FINAL: The Rainbow Warriors overcame a sloppy start to defeat Chaminade, 83-66, in a basketball exhibition tonight in the Stan Sheriff Center. Hawaii basketball set for exhibition against Chaminade

The men’s basketball team will offer a preview when it plays host to Chaminade in an exhibition Wednesday night in the Stan Sheriff Center. Hawaii men’s basketball: Portnoy no longer part of broadcast team

After 27 years, Jeff Portnoy will no longer serve as color analyst for ESPN Honolulu’s broadcasts of UH basketball games. A spokesman for the all-sports station said the decision was based on maintaining the broadcast “continuity” for home and road productions. Portnoy worked on broadcasts from the Stan Sheriff Center.
