Sports anchor/reporter Taryn Hatcher is leaving Hawaii News Now after three years. Hatcher will announce her future plans after they are finalized this week. “We knew when we hired her right out of Rutgers University at the ripe old age of 22, that she was just at the outset of what promised to be a great career,” HNN general manager Rick Blangiardi said. “Her first three years with us have been terrific”

Linebacker commits to Warriors

The defensive leader of one of the nation’s top high school football programs — linebacker Zach Bowers of Chandler (Ariz.) High — told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser he has accepted a scholarship offer from the Warriors. “When I got there, I felt the family aspect of it,” said Bowers, who visited Hawaii this past weekend. “Everyone welcomed me with open arms. Two things have been noticeable about the defensive tackles: 1) Ricky Logo has established himself as a tireless recruiter and detailed instructor, and 2) the gaps are being filled.
