Michael Eletise, a former All-State offensive lineman and 4-star prospect from Kaiser High, is transferring from Arizona to the UH football team. “I’m very excited,” said Eletise, who based his decisions partly on having “some family stuff to take care of. And my grandparents are getting older. It’s easier for them to see me play if I’m in Hawaii. For the second time in eight days, Hawaii and Long Beach State will meet in a basketball game. This time it’s in the Pyramid. Both teams are seeking to rebound. Tavai invited to Combine; Warriors add DL, DB

Former UH linebacker Jahlani Tavai said he has been invited to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine in March. Top officials — general managers, personnel directors, coaches — will be evaluating the participants in the invitation-only event in Indianapolis. Tavai, whose senior season was shortened because of a shoulder injury, is now physically fit. He has been training in San Diego.
