Game Night: UH vs. Longwood

UPDATE 2: Dylan Thomas was dominant, striking out 11 in a 9-1 win for UH. It was the first time this season UH won the first two games of a series. UPDATE: UH got the series started with a 5-4 comeback win over Longwood, with Dallas Duarte knocking in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the eighth. Makana Garrigan, who has served on the UH football coaching staff the past three seasons, has joined Maine as a running backs coach. Garrigan is reunited with assistant head coach Pat Denecke, who is the Black Bears’ run-game coordinator and offensive line coach. Jake Thomas, who worked with the offensive line as a graduate assistant, is returning to his alma mater — Azusa Pacific — as the offensive line coach. Thomas is a former APU offensive lineman and assistant. “Jake is a great pickup,” said APU head coach Victor Santa Cruz, a former UH linebacker. “He played O-line for us. Warriors open spring ball on March 29

Who will place slotback John Ursua? And linebacker Jahlani Tavai? And how will the quarterback reps be split? The answers will begin to be revealed on Friday, March 29, for the first of 15 spring practices for the Warriors. The spring game will be played April 27.
