Cindy Luis covers University of Hawaii volleyball for the Star-Advertiser. She began her career as a sports journalist in Hawaii in 1981 with the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and was the sports editor, assistant sports editor, columnist and beat writer during a 31-year span before the paper became the Star-Advertiser. She graduated from UCLA in 1977 with a B.A. in Communication Studies.
As expected, travel roster does not include Burns, Okino and Gong. Players excited about first road trip. 9 of the 14 are from California so they are excited about seeing family Greeley’s situation is a bit different. As several have noticed, Lipscomb no longer on the roster Don’t have official reason yet other than she is no longer on the team. She had dealt with a number of injuries during her high school career and definitely wasn’t 100 percent during fall camp or even when the season began.
